:howler::D:howler::D:howler::D

Lennon = England's number one right winger

Defoe = England's number one striker

Saint Robbie on the bench - will Harry now **** it up by going back to 3 up front against Villa?

tune in next for the next edition of tottinham hotspur fc

losing 9:1 at the highest level is unacceptable...I like Martinez, seems like a good young manager, but somebody has to take a hit for this at Wigan

good result for Tottenham, can't remember seeing a score this big, of course there was Derby losing 6:0 a few times :wallbang: :D

Wigan is also one of only two teams to have beaten Chelsea. Take that to the bank.

a mate of mine had Keano as captain

anyway this another reason why suprs is the english team i root for :D their games are always crazy. either win big or loose in style :D
:shades: :proud:

Nothing beats it.

Non Spurs fans don't know what they're missing out on

Defoe, king of the minnows. :D

Didn't watch it so will look at the highlights later. Sounds like Aaron Lennon was on fire though. With Joe COle playing well too, England's flanks are looking a lot better. :)

Congrats to Spurs.

When can we expect the DVD of the game?

Dmitriy can never pass up on an opportunity to take a dig at English players. That's why I'm glad Russia got beaten in the play offs.

man... what happen after the 4th gol.... where they thinking, "ok if we just start this game over, a 5-0 loss wouldnt be as bad"?

how do you let in that many gols?

To be fair, Defoe is playing for a much better attacking unit than Bent.

Bent is often up top by himself, I don't think Defoe could do that job. Likewise Bent isn't as good a finisher as Defoe. They do different jobs so I'd take both to the World Cup.

I put a lot more value on getting goals on the quality of the opposition, not the quantity in total.

When Anelka came to Chelsea, all he did was score against the worst clubs in the EPL, and that created a false sense of quality and value for him, when in reality, if he was playing against any team in the top HALF of the league, he didn't do a single thing. Was basically 10 players for Chelsea if Anelka played against any better side.

Any average person can beat up a cripple, it takes something to beat up say an MMA fighter.

Bent > Defoe at this point

Defoe needs to score more against the better teams, and then we'll have a better picture IMO

you have NOTHING to base that statement on!

just because bent scored against a top 4 team this weekend so therefore all of a sudden bent is good against quality opposition?! the guy has NEVER scored an international goal.

englands other 2 strikers who are almost certain to go to the WC are rooney and heskey. neither prolific, heskey having had zero shots on target for villa this season.

defoe is a natural goal scorer and should be much higher in the pecking order than bent.

strange that scoring 5 goals in one game is being classified as a bad thing here!

btw, defoe scored an overhead kick against man united this season, are they not a big side? and 2 of his england goals were against holland....
