the first game is in spain!
The problem with Norway is playing against bad sides that don't attack as much and can't control the game. Against a team like Spain, Norway is at their "best" (or worst, all depending if you like destructive defensive style or attractive attacking football). They can lay low and have a compact defense, then counter attack with fast forward runs or long balls. It worked well in the Euro2000, and it might very well work again.Luigi Vampa said:norway found it tough to score goals even against minnows like luxembourg. their group turned out to be harder than previously thought with bosnia being right in the thick of things. with norways style of play, its hard to see them scoring many goals. so theyll need to rely on defence and counter attack. spain has a strong offence, theyre an offence minded team so itll be hard for norway to stop them. by the same token, that offence mindset leaves them vulnerable to the counter attack and their defence is good, but nothing exceptional.
Sounds a lot like my post in the Nordic forumGlen said:I hope that either Norway get's an untolerably lucky victory or that Spain absolute hammers them.
Being a Dane who supports Italy also- there are really two very different opportunities for fun here.
But... in the end I would be sad if Spain was not there, because it's a good team to watch. And they should have more than enough to beat Norway at it's present level.

If most Norwegians didn't agree with such statements, that isLuigi Vampa said:poor norway, if i were norweigan and had to constantly hear these things i really think i would lose it and start throwing punches in every direction....and at least twice in glens;-)
