This thread may have done before but still, what is the best goal ever?
And for Gods sake donut say maradona against england, because there are better.
I was watching this wonderful youtube video of the 50 best goals, and stupidly maradona was No.1 but apart from that it was a fantastic compilation!
No.4 was out of the world bicycle kick from at least 30 yards from a guy called Bressan? i searched him up on wikipedia and nothing came up. He was wearing a white shirt with Toyota as the sponshorship.. :smileani:

it is amazing.

Anyway what do you think is the best goal?

I have great memory, but this one is too tough even for me. Especially as many great ones were scored before my time.

This isnt my favourite, but it is a nice one nonetheless:

Cambiasso (Argentina - Serbia Montenegro)

The goal you mean is yes of Mauro Bressan, he played for Fiorentina (8 years ago), and yes, that goal is very memorable and brilliant. But not best ever goal even unreal. Here:

Le God

There are tons of long range shots, a lot of dribbling past 5 players from midfield, lots of chips, lots of scissor kicks, lots of overheads.... but this goal is unique. Pure class with amazing touches to beat defenders with the ball in the air, while running.

As for the second best... one of these... ???

Yeah, this thread is tailor made for Le Tissier.

He wouldnt win the best goal ever prize (but he would seriously win the best shooter ever for me), but he would for damn sure fork out the most candidates for it. Absolutely sick mofo.

Oh man, i thought it was a Valencia player, still wicked goal.
And what do you think about Ibrahimovic's goal for Ajaz, that was number 2 in that 50 goal list.
Also Seedorf wicked looooong-range shot for Real madrid is mind-blowing!

The Seedorf goal, Sky were showing it live and because it was in the middle of the park they went to their expert in the studio for a word and the commentator just shouts him out when Seedorf lets rip. Crazy strike.

Totti's goal against Inter couple of seasons ago. Had the ball in Roma's half, passed 3 Inter players running through the whole field and end up with a beauty cucchiaio on top of Toldo's head.

I remeber watching the game with my brothers.. we were so amazed that we kept it quite with our jaws dropped for a whole minute.

The girl jumping in celebration with the players on the background made it even more special. :)

Zidane's is so much harder than Van Persie's:

1) On the flank
2) Ball from higher, and quite more vertical
3) With his unprefered foot
4) Much more minded than VP goal (there is much less place for luck in Zidane's goal than in VP's)
5) CL final for god's sake!! :)

No it's not.

RC is running at full speed (+ outside of the boot which you've already mentioned) making it totally different than scoring from a set piece.

For me it's the 2nd best goal I've ever seen after Rivaldo's Bicycle kick against Valencia.

BEST GOAL EVER

Totally agree. Comparing RCarlos's goal to a simple corner is absurd. Absolutely nothing in common aside from happening to be kicked from the touch line. A rather absurd assertion, actually.

No one could have scored the goal Zizou scored. NO ONE!
Legendary goal for a legendary player, as simple as that.

Van Basten, Savicevic, Weah. Keep ur Le Tiss, and that fluke bald frenchie.

Van Basten - vs Russia, and Gothenberg, Savicevic - Barca, and Weah - Verona.

Despite this being a highly subjective topic I'm very surprised that only myself and pun seem to think that Carlos Alberto's goal was the greatest ever. All the goals mentioned here are wonderful finishes, truly memorable goals, but Carlos Alberto's had everything - the perfect place (World Cup final) against what was a great Italy side, a beautiful team move and a highly underrated finish. Something like only two players didnt touch the ball in the build up, which may have not contained as many passes as Cambiasso's in WC2006 but was much more beautiful. Tostao coming back to win the ball, Clodoaldo's mazy dribble of four(?) Italian players, Jairzinho picking up the ball from Rivelino on the left (Jairzinho being on the left made Facchetti push forward which in turn made space for C.Alberto), then the greatest player ever doing a simple thing perfectly, looking up and playing a measured ball into Carlo's Alberto's path. The finish cannot be compared to Van Basten's but remember the ball bounced off the turf before he struck it. Excellent finish.
