Extremely tricky match for our boys on Wednesday. We will be without Perrotta for the next 3 weeks and Panucci due to yellow card suspension.

Torino has been playing much better lately and it won't be easy getting 3 points. I can see a bit of a letdown here.

But nonetheless, Forza Roma sempre!

I have full faith in the team
As you said it won't be easy, but we regained our confidence against Palermo and a plus factor should also be that Mancini has scored 2 goals in the last game and will be hungry for more ;) When he scored the first one it was like a whole mountain has fallen of he's back. After the goal he was quicker, he had more confidence when dribbling...

Yes, Mancini is so damn streaky....lets hope an abundance of goals from Amantino are on the way.

Gazzetta.it predicts the following line-up right now:

----------------Doni----------------
Cassetti---Mexes----Chivu---Tonetto
--------Pizarro--------De Rossi------
-----Rosi------Taddei-----Mancini---
----------------Totti---------------

Chivu is still questionable after last night's injury.

I really hope the boys perform. Torino are in some decent form and Rosina is the one to watch here. I agree with your team R10... I would include Rosi from the start, enter Montella at half-time if things are not going our way.

I am frightened by Rosina. He's in great form. I also wonder what we'll do if Chivu can't make it... I have no idea what I would do.
If Chivu can't play we just have to put our trust in Defendi, but Im sure Chivu will be ok. Defendi is a defender with good potential, signed to Spurs at a young age, on loan at Udinese last season and now us, he cant be too bad and although young, must be something good.

We need Chivus pace against Rosina, that´s why I feel he´s extra important in this game, I remember him cancelling out Reginaldo, not a very good player but fast, when we played Fiorentina. Usually Mexes man marks the big tall guys (Like Amauri) and Chivu takes the pacy ones.

Chivu... pace? OK hes decently fast for a defender, but IMO hes not even faster than Mexes... Rosina would skin Chivu alive in a foot race... Chivu is just a great ball user and when concentrated has good all round defensive abilities... Speed is decent for him but its not a major attribute either.

The injuries to Perrotta, Aquilani, Ferrari, Vucinic, Faty, and Martinez are really starting to hurt.

We have to rely on Cassetti, Rosi, and maybe even Defendi for this match and to me its just kinda sad. We have a great team and our starting 11 can compete with anyone, but our depth is what will ultimately stop us from winning the Scudetto.

I can only hope Tavano and a defender are on the way in January. Aquilani and Ferrari are also expected to return by the end of January. This what we could look like:

----------------Doni----------------
Panucci---Mexes----Chivu---Tonetto
--------Pizarro--------De Rossi------
----Taddei----Perrotta----Mancini---
----------------Totti----------------

Bench: Tavano, Montella, Vucinic, Aquilani, Ferrari, Cassetti, Curci

Reserves: Rosi, Virga, Faty, Defendi, Okaka, Martinez, Julio Sergio

Thats a very strong team from top to bottom. Tavano may replace Taddei in the starting line-up as well.

I´d be ready to bet my arm he´s faster.

I'm considering Vucinic as out for the season (I'm unsure)>>>

The operation went fine, he´s out 1 month and it´s the holidays upon us, he´s missing 3 games, why would he be out for the season?

I wasn't aware of that...I will edit my post. Thanks!

That's a great bench.

We still need one or two more players though IMO, a winger ideally. And perhaps some more cover at the back.

A very tough game for sure, Toro are in great form and we are missing lots of players. Currently our bench is again reduced to Primavera players which greatly limits Spaletti's options during the games.

Still, If Taddei and Mancini show the same kind of form as against Palermo and De Rossi and totti play up to their usual standarts, we have a good chance to win.

MARSILI Massimiliano
MEXES Philippe
MONTELLA Vincenzo
OKAKA C. Stefano
PIZARRO David
POLVERINI Dario A.
ROSI Aleandro

TOTTI Francesco
VIRGA Valerio

Doni; Cassetti, Mexes, Chivu, Tonetto; Pizarro, De Rossi; Rosi, Taddei, Mancini; Totti

Curci, Polverini, Defendi, Marsili, Virga, Okaka, Montella

Wow that bench is no inexperienced, Montella aside. Anyway the first team is still good and as I said we can bring on Monty if Rosi is underperformind. Virga and Okaka are also goo options from the bench despite their age. I suppose we hope our defence remains fit as Defendi or Polverini would be a risk.

Nice to see Ferrari back on the called list. Means Matteo should be 100% after the Christmas holidays.

Oh I didnt even notice that :D I guess Ferrari will be on the bench at least then although I assume his call is a bit of a rush and would prefer him not to take part at all.

Virga is very cool headed, and a fairly smart mover of the ball. I don't think he has the skill set to go by players, but he is a cool finisher and good defensively. Or that's the indication I get having watched him only a couple times this season.

I think Virga would make Rosina's life more difficult on the wing, but I think that that is almost negligible as Rosina has such an advanced role, and pretty much given free reign to swith wings and such. Since Torino are going to be defending Virga is going fairly advanced if he plays.
