Serie A - 3rd Game: Livorno vs AC MILAN - 13/09/2009

We all hoped for a miracle and some luck in the derby BUT in the end the better team won.

We have to win the games with weaker opposition IF we want to achieve CL qualification.

Hopefully in the next 2 days we will sign some quality players...

My line-up:

Storari
Abate-Nesta-Silva-Antonini
Flamini-Pirlo-Seedorf
R80
Pato-Hunter

Forza Milan

You're hoping for a miracle with Abate and Antonini on the flanks :D

We need to make up for last week, should be a solid win!!

Forza Magico Milan!!

I am on a table right now, pleadging to support Milan this season.

Isn't this the 3rd game or are we pretending the derby never happened?;)

Don't worry, soon Berlu will release a statement that we are the best club in the world, squad is just fine, Dinho is a phenomenon, Pirlo the best playmaker in the world and we will beat those communists 7-0.

Zambrotta really has lost his pace, too. his feet seemed very heavy on the Inter game. I hope we start Abate on the midfield. I'd stick with Pirlo and Flamini. Seedorf start in R80 place. KJH and Pato upfront

The 2 week break will give Leo and the team some time to re-group, though it's mentally tough to recover and forget the arse-ripping in the derby.

Changes I'd like to see (though I doubt will happen):
Favallinho for Jankulovski
Antonini for Zambrotta
Seedorf for Gattuso
Huntelaar for Borriello

after such a bollocking i can only see us winning this game.....R80 situation is depressing to say the least..

I'm wondering how the 2 weeks of time off will affect the team. Hopefully Leo can work on changes, address the problems that Inter exposed and get the team focused on doing what they can do to have a good season.

Onward, Milan! We can still do well enough this season to maintain self-respect.

Time is on our side this time. The shell-shock from the derby loss has a better chance of wearing off with this break. At least in theory Leo has the time to work things out. One might argue that he doesnt have the players to compete, but that certainly wont be an excuse against the likes of Livorno.

I'd love to see our training sessions. R80 & Seedorf doing keep ups, most fixing their hair, and a few players putting in effort. There is no semblence of a strategy, no hustle, no appetite for victory. Might just as well get most on a Berlu hooker cruise, and play the youth team players. Think they would at least put effort in.

Flamini had said during pre-season that they train hard physically than they did with Ancelotti. Training and effort isn't the problem, the problem is the transition we're making with a new inexperienced coach.

The 2 week break is also ideal if we were to make a new signing (which is doubtful) as it'd mean one more extra week of training to integrate.

I've no doubts that Flamini and a few others are working hard, but it doesn't look like Pirlo, or R80 have done any training at all. Players were jogging past them on sat

It would be great if Leo would try Pirlo in the trequartista role. Just play a midfield of Flamini, Seedorf and Abate with Pirlo in front of them and Pato and Huntelaar in front of Pirlo. Should work, at least against Livorno.

It's too early to bench Dinho unless we want to ruin him for the season. He should Not feel he owns a spot, but we have played two games and he was brilliant in one of them. He needs the confidence and love thing like some other players do. Unconditional love, not just claps when is good and rips when he struggles. Not sure he'll get that at the San Siro.

That said, if he falls into a run of ineffective play them Leo will have to make a change or risk losing the team. I have always wanted yo see Pirlo get forward more. He could easily play as the playmaker ala Riquelme. Just be sure to let him roam. He wouldd not be there to make tackles

but unlike Raul, Dinho doesnt BOSS the Milan dressing room, if anything i doubt he has any affection from the players especially the italians (Gattuso, pirlo, ambro, nesta), especially if he had clashed with carlo last season....but i agree with u i doubt Leo will have the balls to defy Berlu and bench him, and sadly it seems until he does Milan will not play to their full potential, he slows the play to unbelievable levels, he doesnt track back nor make runs forward to create space for others or distract a defender, he doesnt provide width, and probably the easiest player in the world now to mark...at the moment he is about freekicks and odd killer pass, which beckham can provide lol at least beckham tracks back and provides width...

Dinho also has no real replacements cept for maybe Pirlo, so unless we do a classic 4-4-2 with central mids his job is fairly safe.

dinho played well v sienna (one might say very well), and was among the worst in a tragic derby display for the entire team. so no need to ask for his head just yet, the only thing left really is to give him full support and hope he delivers at least partially

#34 ·
Exactly. We turn on this guy after one shitty game (which is what we do around here) then Dinho will useless. Its clear that he can help win games for us. MAybe that is how we get many of our points against scrubs. Its also clear he can disappear in games. We already knew that.

#35 ·
It's not only one game. It's the entire last season or maybe only the spring part of the last season.

#36 ·
I think he was ok when he played last year (for the most part) but he is all we have right now and are we really gonna complain about the same shit every week? Just wondering. I know I wont be able to endure 38 weeks of that.

#37 ·
Yes if Leo does what Carlo did and play the same players over and over again despite them sucking then yeah we'll complain. I don't think anybody can sit and watch somebody do the same mistake over and over again 38 times and not say anything.
