Day 1

Hamsik is amazing, and holy crap, Reina is awful.

Benitez: Hamsik is tactically more intelligent than Gerrard.

That's quite a compliment.

Napoli looks great except for the patches of awfulness. In preseason, they played excellent first halves and poor second halves. If they can keep improving (they just as well might collapse) and sign a good CB, they may be scudetto contenders. If Reina keeps this up, they have a decent backup in Rafael.

Maggio looks like a completely different player as a RB and under the new setup.

Yes, a win by two goals against the mighty Chievo. Calm down, Rafamug.

Looks like Liverani won't be there for long before Preziosi sacks him. Shame really, was a very talented player but he obviously lacks experience at this level.

Already counting out Lazio? They got trashed by Juve, but the game was not that one-sided as the result would indicate, didnt help they got their best player sent off either obviously.

Very premature to tell anything. All of Inter, Roma and Fiorentina have only faced relegation contenders so far and Napoli and Milan havent exactly faced quality teams either. I wouldnt make any guesses untill about 15~ rounds are played.

I agree. Lazio have a really strong group of players and work together well. Hernanes is a stud and players like Candreva and Lulic are entering prime form while Klose is timeless. The other teams mentioned have done well. Inter look to have that Mazzarri grit and he's gotten everyone involved while Napoli under Benitez will be strong and balanced. Milan have the same core group and know what Allegri wants. Fiorentina continues to grow and Montella is proving to have a clear way to play football and getting the players to follow.

I'm happy to see Roma's new signings playing well and making an impact but still early days.

Garcia fixed Roma's balance the way his three predecessors should have. The team finally looks able to defend and attack. Great balance, good teamwork. Pjanic's goal was one of the best I've seen in years. Totti's precision and weighted balls were an absolute thing of beauty. DeRossi's work rate unmatched. Looking forward to transfer window closing.

Aside from Napoli (and Juve obv.), Roma also looks good. They're better defensively, but Napoli is better offensively. Benatia is more solid and experienced than Marquinhos, and that Maicon gamble paid off. Garcia is a very good coach, and finally we're seeing some decent tactics and good team mentality from Roma.

Saw the first half of the Inter game. Catania was better in the beginning of the half, and Handanovic made some very good saves. Mazzarri, as usual, motivated his troops from the sideline, and Inter grew into the game. Mazzarri has already done a great job so far, but they still lack quality on paper. Grit and discipline won't be enough to make the CL. Campagnaro was the third-best CB in the league last season IMO, and he's continuing is good form. He's at his peak and is playing very well.

Inter may not have the best squad but they have Mazza&don't have the european distraction this season,Roma,Napoli,Fio will all be dangerous.Lazio I certainly won't be counting out&Udinese may have their usual threatening run as always:D.

Juve will still be the benchmark of course, others will have to see how they go as the season progresses.
