Time to wake up... with Ronnie, with Deco, with Eto'o, probably with Motta and Messi... against one of the most irregular sides of La Liga at this point.

Barcelona must change the tendency, because the next month is going to be tough. The situation is good yet, but another loss could close the advantage too much.

Last year, we faced a similar situation and the team reacted with authority winning almost everything from here to the end of La Liga. The team has to show the same authority now.

Betis is not having a good moment, but they still have their weapons with JoaquĂn and the bitch of Dani, who can always be a danger. Probably, their defense isn't the same this year and their midfield is not also very reliable.

Anything out of the 3 points is a failure... but we have most of the key pieces back.

Visca el Barça i Visca Catalunya!

Saturday. 6 PM (local time). PPV (here)

I think it's good that we'll have a relatively easy homegame now that we've suffered two losses. The cracks will be back, and they will want to completely crush this weak Betis to build the confidence before playing in that disgrace of a pitch in western London. All the players will be back except for Xavi. Giuly is a big doubt for this game though, and Messi too but he has a much better chance to make it. IMO, he shouldn't start, he should however get atleast 25-30 mins against Betis. Motta will also be back but he shouldn't start, just like with Messi he should get a considerable amount of playing time but not too much as I wouldn't risk our successfull and defensively solid Brazilian midfield against the chavs. I would like to see this;

Valdes (or Jorquera.. :lala: )

Oleguer-Marquez-Puyol-Sylvinho

Deco-Edmilson-Iniesta(subbed for Motta)

Larsson(subbed for Messi)-Etoo-Ronaldinho

This time, please stay injury free :hopefull: , atleast so that we have a proper DM in the difficult away match. The CL clash is wednesday the 22nd, so there will be some time to rest.. I have no doubt that the players will give this match 100% focus though. Especially O Rei Ronaldinho

this is the best chance for the team to show they are ready to go back in top form and play like they know how to play, and regain the early run of this season and the form they won La Liga in last season.

I'd rather see Maxi Lopez play with Eto'o and Ronaldinho than seeing Larsson, I think he deserve a shot at this game, and we know what he did in the few minutes he played in Betis 1st game.

------- Valdes :finger: ---------

Belletti ..... Puyol ... Marquez ...... Sylvinho

-------------- Edmilson ---------------

------ Deco ------------- Iniesta

Eto'o ------ Maxi --------- Ronaldinho

and Ronaldinho can drop in the back of the 2 strikers, and help midfield building attacking moves.

I think Sylvinho plays more better cross's into the 18 Yard box than Gio, and I think thats something we need to improve if we want to beat teams like Chelsea, Juve and Milan.

Visca el Barca i Visca Catalunya :star: :strong:   :fero:

We had nothing to play for in that match, we won at Betis 0-3. The players were obviously farting throughout the game, even Puyol of all people did.. :D
Well, according to score conjectures, Barcelona are gonna cane Betis. But somehow I don't see Betis giving in that easily, unless they play 11 men behind the ball. Dani will be the danger man.

I don't think our players will be too down about the last 2 defeats.

Also, the team will change somewhat from those defeats so that will be a motivating factor.

Ronnie should be in good form. He'll be dying to contribute :)

Frankly, it would be absolutely astonishing if we fail to win this game by at LEAST 2 goals. We are better than them by an impossibly vast margin, we have players coming back into the team including what is sure to be a hyper motivated Ronaldinho, and the players all know that they need to get back on the winning track as soon as.

Even a 1-0 win wouldn't be completely acceptable. :frustrat:

Ronaldinho boils with tension when he cannot play.. i know he missed the Nou Camp :)

As for those loses some people are talking about i noticed that the team kept a good possession against Valencia and as Rijkaard put it " wel lost by a freak goal ". a 0-0 tiue against valencia on their own turf without ou regular starters is not bad at all... the team showed fight even when the odds were all against us.

Now against betis i want those regulars to get the 90 minutes bec they havent been playign together for some time now and i want them to get the flow back before the chelsea game.

REM reunited on a new surface can only mean one thing; goals, goals and goals.

I think Betis will get crushed, no doubt. Maybe 6-0.

If you recover Motta and Messi, you should play like this;

------------Valdes-2-Villa--------------

-Oleguer---Puyol---Marquez---Sylvinho

----------------Motta------------------
-------Deco--------------Iniesta---------

--Messi--------------------Ronaldinho---
----------------Eto'o-------------------

Good team. :D

That is the best Barcelona at this point in time, IMO.

Forget about resting players for Chelsea, you need a confidence boost with a win here and Messi plus Deco should play just to get super sharp ahead of Chelsea.

I think 6-0 is realistic, actually.

Malaga beat Betis 5-0 so I wonder what Barca will do to them on a good day. :D

The truth is, Betis have been awful defensively this season. It's scary how quickly they have gone down hill, this time last season they were flying. I guess they never really recovered from the knee injury to Ricardo Oliveria, and too much effort in the Champions League has seen their league form evaporate.

Please don't mention the Chelsea match in this match thread ... The players should be fully focused to beat Betis.
When we don't win against Betis, the margin between us and the rest is to small to relax ... first la liga, then the rest!

If we're ahead 3-0 against Betis, than we can start talking about Chelsea...
(although i admit i can't wait as well for those 2 games, knowing that i'll be at the nou camp against Depor and Chelsea :))

We have to go out and crush those bastards, I want to win this match to boost the players confidence ahead of the Chelsea clash. I don't want to sub Ronaldinho, like what Culed said Messi and Motta should come later on during the match and have some minutes. I don't want anyone to get injuried in this match, anything less than 3 points is a f***ing disgrace to be honest.

Go'ol, El Mago and Messiah hasn't played together in a long time. They return to the Camp Nou's renovated grass, full of rage, especially El Mago :)howler:). The new surface will let them move smoothly trough Betis' "defence". I think we will see the best Ronaldinho since... in a long time. Even better than against Mandril.

My bet: 5-0. Go'ol X2, assisted by Ronaldinho both times. Messiah scores one, assisted by Deco. Deco scores a Deflecto of Dani's shaved head.. :D And in the 85th minute when REM is resting, Valdés steps up, takes a freekick and scores. El Mago gets up from the bench screaming: "I tought him that!"

Everybody's happy and we'll have lots of confidence before travelling to Stambord Bridge.

You guys are way too optimistic.
5-0/6-0? Do you think we're going to play a tennis match or what? I know Betis are awful and inconsistent this season but they still can cause us some problems.
A 2-0 would be more than enough for me.
Can't wait for the game and teh return of Mago. I really missed him.
