So, do you guys think he's worth the 8 million euros we're going to spend on him? To other big teams that's probably nothing, but to us, that's going to be a huge portion of our transfer funds.

We have 2 strikers. He can't be Villa's replacement, because Zigic is 100% guaranteed to be leaving, while nobody know's if Villa is leaving.

If we sign yet another striker after we get Soldado, then Villa's a goner for sure.

I get the feeling that Silva's contribution to the team is quite underrated. I've never really been that big of a fan of the fella, certainly not as much as I adore Mata and Banega, but I've been paying attention to what he actually does on the pitch for us lately, and yes he does have consistency issues and his misses are very frustrating, but the way he keeps us flowing and more mobile in the last third of the pitch is something to be appreciated. It will be a huge loss if we sold him in the summer. Chori is a very good player, but he's much more direct and we have enough direct players in Villa, Pablo and Mata, so Silva offers something else.

Yeah I think that is the major reason why Emery is interested in him. The kid certainly has issues on delivering goals on a regular and consecutive basis, but his season end numbers have always seemed ok. Perhaps with the service he would be getting here, he can score on a more consistent basis.

Yea,I would expect that you want someone else to leave club and not our own products,and especialy if they are one of best Spanish players.

We should get ready to sell Villa this summer. It will probably happen, and its not something that we should resist.

If we play smart, we can make good use of this. We should try to cut a deal with Barcelona only and only if Bojan can be included in the deal in someway.

Similarly we should try a swap (plus cash if necessary) with Getafe for Soldado.

This way we ll have 3 very good strikers in the team led by Soldado, a young emerging striker in Bojan and finally a very good backup in Chori.

Getafe doesn't have anywhere near enough cash to make the Soldado + cash for Villa deal make sense for us...

 

I don't think they'll want David Villa, of course they'll want him but not at our heavy price we'll charge, and given that they won't give up on Zlatan. Interesting with Bojan, still a kid and a kid with no playing confidence is never good. I'd like him at the club, he still has nice potential but if we were to land him we should have the intention of changing formations, i just don't see him playing the furthest up the field, with minimal support alongside, just not developed physically to do so.

 

Yeah maybe he wont be able to deliver next season. We ll have to depend on Soldado and Chori more. But Bojan will be a player for the future. And we can groom him like we developed many of our stars in the past.

 

So you guys agree we should let go of Villa before Silva? Personally, it makes more sense if we have to sell anyone, considering the age difference and Villa will probably give us a higher pricetag.

Hopefully the club stays ambitious for next years CL league, and we don't sell anyone, just swapping Soldado for Zigic.

If that happens, I'm sure after next season, we can still get 20-25 Million Euros for Villa. And even if we're only able to generate just 20 million, that's still more than enough to sign a few decent players for other positions, aswell as a direct replacement.

Yeah meniscus injury (some tissue in the knee). If we were to sell Villa, I want a more convincing replacement.
