MADRID, March 29 (DS) - According to the Spanish "AS", Real Madrid are interested in the Betis midfielder Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez, who is presently hunted by a number of European leading clubs.
The Royal Club expressed interest in Joaquin following the reports linking Luis Figo with a move to one of the Premiership clubs.
Meanwhile, Joaquin's current contract runs out in 2006 and the officials of Betis rated the midfielder at $50ml.
Joaquin commented on his possible move to the Royal Club:
"Real Madrid have always been my dear dream. I think that any player dreams of playing in the leading clubs, who fight for the trophies in the national championship and Champions League. However, I want to underscore that I do not consider Betis to be a bad club, just on the contrary."
