Im sorry to open this tread again, but I really cant find the last one again...i was searching for 20 min or so.

Id like to tell you about a team in La Cantera that is really amazing. They are the youngest team in La Cantera (9-10 years old) and called "Benjamin". These Benjamines really made a true goleada out of last season with winning all their 24 games with a score of 401:4 goals!!!  Thats already amazing , but even more, when I tell you that one game is just 40 min long! Makes an avewrage of 16,7 goals per game!

The safest goleadores were Ian González with 65 goals, Israel Suero with 58, Javier García Noblejas and Eloy with 51 and Miguel Herranz Gómez with 44, Cristian Benavente (34) and Diego with 28 goals.

Even the defense scored well: Derik Osede (21 goals), Cristian Patiño (19), Sergio (18) and Luis Fernández (12).

Not to forget, its their first year! So the strikes are to break Portillos goalscoring record in la Cantera, if they go on like that!

And not to forget, Raul once scored 65 goals as well in his first season with the youth team of Atleti.

Really amazing these guys. Hope to see some of them in the first team once... Hala Benjamin! :)

I have actually seen the Benjamines play ( a name given to the U10 teams) Why you ask? (at least I ask myself ;) ) Becuase my son played Alevines and Benjamines (For Rayo Majadahonda, recently promoted ;) ) while we lived in Madrid, so I went to a lot of games.

The difference in play between Madrid and the other clubs is so laughable that they would be better off creating a league of their own. Hard to see how they could get improvment while playing. I would never question the coaching, they are awsome, but the quality of play has to be more competitive.

If Prez is still presodent then I would say they have a 0.001% chance of playing...
Interesting comment, as the amount of youngsters given a chance for the first team has increased with Pérez at the helm....

Being serious as to the % of chances, its never as high as 5% but never as low as 0.001.

I would like to find out exactly, with hundres every year playing in the Benjamines A, B y C and changing when they get to Alevines. Chances are pretty slim. But teams like Las Palmas, Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic actually cover the cost of their "canteras" (I still say, this is a goofy Spanish word) by selling their players.

Today at least we can talk about a generation of home-made players, starting with Casillas and including Pavón, Miñambres, Bravo, Portillo and maybe Tote, although this one has no future in Madrid.
Whether it has been or not Perez's merit is a good question, but certainly this is the first group of players more or less successful in getting the first team in many years.

Eight years ago there were another promising group including Raúl, Guti, Álvaro, Víctor (I still miss him), Marcos, García Calvo, Sanz or Gómez, but only two of them seized the opportunity. Apart from Raúl and Guti, I would say our new babes are clearly better than them.

Curiously a few days ago the papers told that Real are very satisfied because their "cantera" effort means no loss of money. Well, these are good news from Pérez's perspective, no doubt, and a guarantee that, at least, the effort will go on. Itr is very probable that we'll hear about a few more names very soon

we could need a good defender now.
Huh  , Trashorras is an attacking midfielder.

IMO hes doing his job well, he was never brought from Barcelona as a prospect to play in the first team, simply to improve the level of the B team so they can push for promotion so youth players can develop in a harder division.

Since he went to Madrid B last season they missed out on promotion by 1 point and this year are storming away with their second division B group- although admittedly one of the weakest.

oups, sorry I was mixing him up with someone else. Attacking midfielder? Hmm I think Jurado has maybe better chances there...if one of the b team promotes in that position. Id actually looove to see Juado given a try.

yeah... many good players left from the b-team.

just talking about the youngsters, the CL B-List: Adrian, Alex Perez, Arbeola, Casilla, De la Red, Diego Leon, Ernesto, Javi Garci, Juanfran, Jurado, Palencia, Soldado, Tebar, Valero

As far as I know Trashorras was released from the B team last year and has no club :S
Reading that I thought I made an idiot out of myself with my prior post.

However he played and scored in Real Madrid B last game against Alcala.

Real Madrid B 2-0 Alcalá

GOLES: 1-0 min 75 Trashorras 2-0 min 85 Ricki de penalti

There on 18 points leading with Rayo (how you can fall so fast) 2nd on 13 points. As I say hes doing his job well...

Real Madrid B has started off spectacularly well this season so don't be surprised if we see more contributions from the youth players, especially Juanfran, Arbeloa, Jotha (due to positional requirements), and especially the gem of them all, Jurado. Soldado I've seen play a few times and he looks very sharp, but I'm afraid as a striker, he wont have much chances of playing this season.

avrv, do you think Jurado will get it into the first squad this year? I looved him on international duty with spain but somehow he faded away from interest. I think hes such a talented guy and he definitely deserves a chance.

p.s. check your pm-box. :)

Trashorras is a young spanish player? he is like another Cesc that leave Barca? sorry for my lack of knowledge, I always like to track young players, they aren't contaminated, and for instance become abig fan of Messi, he has everything toshine, if Madrid is going to robe a player, that is the one...anyone I'm fond of every club to form their own national players, form their own canteras, i wish I can enjoy Messi here in Argentina, and he would be in first division faster as times here are at high speed for the players careers..
