It's worth checking out Dani Aquino's goal as he once again did really well with the first team. He also assisted Leo's goal.

 

Just saw the game. Atlético played a lot better than against Estudiantes because of two things: a) well applied pressure on the opponent b) Sporting just weren't pressing our players.

Atleti should've won this game with a lot more than just a goal as Diego Costa missed tons of great chances. Also has to be said that Leo missed one or two good once he came on as well. Tiago worked well in midfield and the passing game was fluid which was good to see. Koke should be playing as a CM.

The fullbacks were brilliant. Juanfran looked like the Juanfran from the first six months under Simeone yesterday. That was by far the best news of the night. Filipe is always great but he was some sort of fullback, playmaker, winger..everything

Another positive thing is Demichelis. He just doesn't waste possession. Very calm and composed on the ball, a big improvement on Godín-Miranda in that sense. Will be really good with the internal competition.

Next up is Nacional which Godín and Cebolla will participate in.

 

The game is unfortunately not going to be broadcasted by anyone because Las Palmas didn't want to do it. Huge shame, it's Villa's debut after all.

 

My earlier post showed up 3 times, I deleted one and everything gone. Anyways, this looks like the preferred 11 for Simeone which we will see starting for good part of the season.

Villa just scored his first goal for Atlético. Apparently a really good one. 0-1 after some 40 minutes.
