This is a tough game on paper and with them being at home and never being afraid to attack it will mean they will be prone at the back. Hopefully Eduardo will be back to exploit the spaces will always seem to be able to find when we play away from home. McCarthy has suffered a concussion as well so hopefully he is still out because we all know what a goal scoring threat this is.

Normally I'd be weary of Blackburn, but I say 2-0.

This will be a real test. We beat them away in the league last season and they beat us in the cup but Blackburn seemed to get stronger as the season went on. McCarthy being out will be a help to us considering his goalscoring record last season but they have Derbyshire to step in who is a future England star. Anyway enough about them. Hopefully we get some forward players back fit and we can revert to a more orthodox 4-4-2. If we manage to win here it will send a message to a lot of people.

In recent seasons the team has made a funny habit of winning when not being beamed into homes across Australia. Once more FOX will not broadcast this match, so I'm hopeful. ;)
ohh FFS you've got to be kidding?? fvcken thats 2 games in a row that i will have to watch on sopcast  :frustrat:

I want us to crush these scumbags (not necessarily Blackburns' players, but Mark Hughes :yuck:). I know it's very early on, but you win the title at these sort of places. Anything less than three points would be a huge disappointment, especially as it would open up a four-point gap over United.

Arsène Wenger may hand fit-again striker Eduardo his Arsenal debut at Blackburn on Sunday.

The Croatian striker looked impressive in pre-season but picked up an ankle knock on the eve of the new campaign and has been forced to sit out the past two games. Denilson is also back after an ankle injury but Emmanuel Adebayor (groin), Abou Diaby (ankle) and Gilberto (fatigue) are still out. They may be joined on the sidelines by Emmanuel Eboue who picked up an ankle problem in the 2-0 win at Sparta Prague on Wednesday.

“From last night we might have a little problem with Eboue, who is struggling a bit,” said Wenger in an exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online on Thursday. “I don’t know yet, we will have more news tomorrow. The players who come back available could be Denilson and Eduardo. I don’t think we’ll lose anyone else from last night apart from that little question mark over Eboue.”

The manager was asked whether he’d be prepared to start Eduardo for the first time against a tough-tackling side like Blackburn.

“Why not?” replied the Frenchman. “We have played two hard and physical games this season already so we need fresh legs.”

Arsenal.com will have further injury news on Friday afternoon.

Denilson and Eduardo coming back may mean we will revert back to 4-4-2, with Flamini and Eboue dropping out.

Well, I've had to watch two games of pure pure pure shit Spurs on Sopcast. ;)

This game looks very interesting on paper. Should be an even match, but if Arsenal come out aggressive and full of life, I think they should snatch the 3 pts.

Pffft. I wasn't calling Spurs shit. I was alluding to their 'play' as shit, which it surely was. Also I was sympathizing with the his having to use Sopcast AND suffer through that. There is a proper context. :p

Anyway, I am also a pessimistic American contrarian. My loyalties strongly lie with Spurs and I will be with them through it all, but I see no need to hold my tongue and feelings. :D Damn Americans!

I suppose it also helps that I consider the whole of XT a 'general football' community. I don't really see this as an Arsenal forum. If I did, you are right... I would never say that on website that exclusively devoted to the Gunners, nor would I sign up to begin with. :)
