We don't want to be opening a thread for every fairly meaningless freindly, so I thought I would open a thread for all talk on all freindlies too go in.

Matches confirmed

Away - Mansfield Town - Saturday 16th July
Home - Birmingham City - Saturday 23rd July
Away - Notts County - Tuesday 26th July
Away - Burton Albion - Saturday 30th July

All fairly local games there, we will play Chesterfield in the Derbyshire cup, as we do every year. And the club is expected too go on a tour somewhere as well, I've heard it's likely too be Denmark or Norway.

We didn't last season, much too everyone's disapointment, I hope we do this season, we've had some good teams run out at Pride Park, Barcelona, Lazio, Ajax, and the only one I went too Athletic Bilboa.

he managed the second half of the season and let me say....never again! :D
he is not the manager anymore, we brought in Blazevic but he is still the Director of Football of the club.
No good as a manager then :dielaugh:

Cuz Forest are from England, they don't count, besides we already have a freindly arranged with Nottingham's number one team :pp

Just heard we are going on a pre season tour of Norway, and are likely to be having 2 matches over there. No more details at this time.

Phil Brown has called off the trip to Norway, too sum up, he basically said it was a waste of time, doesn't look like he's a man who fanny's about, can just imagine marching into the Chairman....wel he probably won't be there, and wouldn't have a clue what he's on about, but I can imagine him marching into someone's office to tell them the tour to Norway is a waste of time, cancel it now.

We are to play Chesterfield in a behind closed doors match some time this week, well we always play them, bit crap it's behind closed doors though. But it will be a chance for the trialists too impress.

Next Tuesday the squad travel to Iceland for a freindly with IA Akranes.

The Iceland league has already started so it will probably be a tough match.

Well we drew 1-1 with Chesterfield, it was behind closed doors, so there's no match report, though trialist Bonnosall scored a last minute own goal, no mention of who scored for us anywhere.

Mansfield Town 0-1 Derby County
Tudgay (34)

First public freindly game is a win, Tudgay got the goal from a Jaime Jordan cross, who also nearly scored, and seems to be impressing.

Davies and Edworhty both played, as did Rasiak and Idiakez. Sakiri and Gemmil played as well.

A comfortable win, starting of the pre season very well! :)

Also there was 1404 travelling Derby fans today, very good support, I'm sure there were league games last season where we didn't take that many away.

Brown tasted has tasted his first defeat as Derby manager at the hands of Icelandic side IA Akranes. Akranes won the game 2-1, Rasiak got on the scoresheet for us.

The Icelandic season is already underway, so a much more match fit Akranes side certainly proved a strong test.

I've got my hands on some free tickets for todays freindly at Pride Park V Birmingham City.

Doesn't quite have the same ring as Barcelona, Lazio, Bilboa or Ajax, like we had in the old days does it. But it's the first time Phil Brown will appear in the managers dugout at Pride Park so it's sure too generate plenty of interest.

Hopefully we can get a win over the blue noses as well.

Derby 0-4 Birmingham City

Birmingham City eased to a comfortable 4-0 victory in their friendly with Derby County at Pride Park.

Mikael Forssell put the Blues ahead with a fine strike, slotting past Lee Camp after beating two defenders.

Emile Heskey added two more goals either side of half-time, the first a powerful header and the second a low strike from just inside the area.

Grzegorz Rasiak hit Derby's best chance over the bar before Njazi Kuqi completed the scoring from close range.

A quite disappointed result
The make me know we are far from Premiership, although its just a friendly game....

We looked well of the pace yesterday, although we made a vewry bright start controlling the game for the first 10 minutes. But there were a lot of players missing especially in defence, where we looked very poor. I'd expect Kenna, Edworthy and Davies to all be in the first choice 11.

The midfield 3 were all too defensive, we need Bisgaard playing in there or that Jaime Jordan, maybe get Lee Holmes in too the side. Something needs to be done because no-one was supporting Rasiak through the middle, it was left to the wide players...and then there was no-one out wide. But that's what the friendlies are for, too sorrt these things out.

Overall the players looked very short of fitness and lazy at times, it's only 2 weeks untill the season starts so Brown had better get them in shape fast.

And lets not forget, it was a very strong Birmingham side we were up against.

As well as the Notts County freindly tonight, a team will be playing against local side Belper Town. Phil Brown is sending first team squad members to both games so they can all get 90 minutes football, 3 trialists will be playing at Belper.

Two results from last night,

Notts County 1-0 Derby
Belper 0-4 Derby

The first team squad was spread between the 2 games, the squad at Notts County was,

Rams: Grant, Edworthy, Jackson, Johnson, Davies, Idiakez, Bolder, Barnes, Rasiak, Bisgaard, Smith. Subs not used: Poole, Ainsworth, Turner, Meredith, Cumberworth, Richards.

While Peschisolido, Pablo Mills, Lee Camp Nathan Doyle and Marcus Tudgay were at Belper, Peschi got a hat trick reminding people he's not over the hill yet.

The Notts County game is a disappointment, but only a freindly, Giles Barnes impressed against Notts, Phil Brown said on that performance the 16 year old has put himself in the reckoning for the first team against Brighton when the season kicks of of August 6th. Good to see promising youngsters keep coming througth the ranks :)

It didn't say on the official website, but I've just found out that trialist Rafik Djebbour scored the 4th goal against Belper.

The pre season freindlies have been disappointing, they might be only freindlies but no-one likes losing at anytime. And it doesn't fill the fans with optimism, only Burton left to play before the season starts, Phil Brown needs to get things in shape for the Brighton game, the fans will give him a chance, but if they play as badly as they have been doing in freindlies, no doubt some will turn on him.

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE game tomorrow, between my two teams the Mighty Rams and the Mighty Brewers.

Derby need this win more than Burton though, so hopefully they will get, otherwise this pre season will have been a disaster.

Think I'll have a prediction, too warm up for when the league starts next week.

I think it will be a 1-0 Derby win, Peschisolido coming off the bench to score.
