For me this is always the biggest game of our season cos i cant stand this club. I respect Man United players such as Giggs and Scholes who are still hungry for sucess at the age of 33 but as a club they have always been run purely as a corporation more than any other club has. And they have the cheek to criticize Chelsea when they have spent ÂŁ100m on three XI players. A club who excused its player when he kung fu kicked a fan in front of his family and a club whose current manager invented phsychological warfare and shocking harassment of referee's excusing Keane and Stam when they scared Andy D'urso half to death because he dared give a legitimate penalty to Middlesborough.

And the other thing that bugs me is how Man u fans and others too think they are the 'biggest club in the world'. They dont have anywhere near the European and domestic sucess of other clubs. They have nowhere near the political significance of Barcelona or the tradition of develping youth that Ajax was known for and AW has taken over at Arsenal.
They dont have the traditions of Liverpool for example, who promote managers through the ranks. Also, they provide no schemes to the community of manchester unlike Manchester City who run various anti-gun, anti knife, anti-drug schemes in the Greater Manchester area. That's why Man City have more fans in the own city of the so-called 'Biggest Club in the world'

People have to look beyond recent on-pitch sucess into the political and cultural significance of clubs which make football much more than a sport. Man United for me claims to be a massive club when they have none of the above mentioned Political, cultural or community values which genuine massive clubs have. If you looked up the word 'Manchester United' in the dictironary you would see it right next to HYPOCRISY. Biggest club in the world? ur avin a larf :howler:

As for the game, our XI that cost less than ÂŁ50M Will smack their ÂŁ125M team worse than we did at Old Trafford :)

If you're saying this is a big game because you hate them. I'd have to agree.

We need the points to secure CL football asap so we don't have the nail-biting pressure debacle of last season - and they need the points to keep ahead of Chelsea. Both teams on form - we'll be missing Gilberto and Gallas (maybe Eboue too?) don't know if they're missing anybody.

Going to be a tough one to call - with United on a title march I think they'll get at least a draw.

I think we will beat them simply because against the big teams this season, our players have stepped up. But this will be the hardest game that we will play this season and most open. United aren't going to sit back like most teams, they are going to come at us hard.

With Gilberto not playing I'm guessing Flamini will start. Diaby would be my preferred choice, but I'm guessing he isn't ready to play in a game like this yet.

Thats exactly how we have been able to do well against the big teams. I think will win here although if we had Gilberto I would be even more confident.

Keane was fantastic but as a player he simply could not live Vieira. Pady was more adapt in playing every role. This is what really swings it for me. He was often the man driving us forward and had more of a cutting edge.

Agree that after Paddy, Keane was the man.

i like the way u expressed your hate to manchester in the first post....you knew exactly how to choose your words of hate aproving it with very good evidance :D

but man arrogance is just all over england clubs to be honest and that isn't something that you can change...

Thanks Clarity :D Guys i think talking about Vieira seems off-topic here, but oh well

Patrick Vieira, absolute legend. Fantastic player who gives 110% every single game. I think the biggest mistake AW has made after 10 years at the helm was to sell him whilst he was on holiday without telling him and for a fee that was'nt high enough for a player of his talent.

I remember people were saying he was'nt the player he was and even some Gooners agreed after we beat Juve 2-0 and Cesc outdid him. The fact was that last season he was a regular in the Juventus team that won serie A, equalling Zidane to win the title in 2 of the 3 major leagues.

But even then some said he has an average season personally in any case and then we had the whole scandal with Juve's title and his medal been taken away. So we come to June 2006, World Cup in Germany. For a whole month we saw once again 'who' Patrick Vieira was. Top 3 players in the tournament with ZZ and Cannavaro IMO.

And now he is part of an Inter team who just broke the Serie A record for consecutive wins. Absolute legend.

ALL top clubs are arrogant, you can't just limit it to English clubs.

And Vieira played better than Zidane if you count the whole tournament. Apart from his shocker against the Swiss, Vieira was brilliant.
WHat???? Zidane was OBVOUSLY THE BEST PLAYER during the world cup. Viera didn't even come close. If antyone was gonna compete with zidane it was buffon.

Well said  couldnt have put it better its like...... you went in my head and took out the thoughts and put them into words:proud:,
but all this points to one fact if we lose this game we will only enforce this false image they have of them selfs by allowing them to be the first team to beat us at home, and me for one wont be able to take that:groan:
The game where they broke our recored was bad enough:mad: even though these scum dont really brag about it cause they know the ref gave them that game and that Shreck dived to give them the win

What a game to have your player of the month and the season so far imo out but we coped well against Chelski with Flamini in the middle and hopefully Cecs is not out or kicked out cause that was one nasty kick by Tugay(pirck) if we go five in the middle and have eboue back to handle ronaldo we should be ok, and plus if Flamini scores in this game he will be the first player this year to score against all our rival and all three big teams i think:happy: So Come on Arsenal:scream: and Flamini to score!!!!!

#22 ·
And yeah forget about Vieira and Zidane, Flamini is the future of the french midfield:pp

Gallas was excellent against Ronaldo at OT, completely nullified him all together as a threat from that side. It's why he went over to the left and nearly scored after Eboue screwed up, and Jens saved with his face. :D

That said, there's only one other guy who isn't going to be taken apart by Ronaldo - Cashley. Flamini and Toure are going to have to do an excellent job of marking him out of the game if we're going to win.
