Ganso does remind me a lot of Pita, which is an old Santos/Sao Paulo player.

Ganso is amazing indeed. He's guy who can play till his late 30's because he's all brain, he really does not need much speed.
In terms of brazilian football history, I'd say he's closer to the old "8", the meia armador like Didi or Gerson (Zidane too). All of them don't score much but leave his teammates in front of goal all the time.

 

Sounds like Pirlo, Bras. Milan can always use another.
