He is not a Premier League player, that is for sure. He is overweight, unfit, and i suspect lacking motivation. The fact that he was released by Burnley (a lower table division 1 side) at the start of the season says it all really. I doubt very much that he has any meaningful football left to play in his career, but that's not to say he couldn't fill a few stadia in the MLS, Japan or the lower leagues.

 

He was recently on Sky Sports news giving his idiotic opinions about something or other and all I can say is that I don't think I have ever seen him looking so old....For real, he looked positively middle aged.

I think he is suffering from a chronic need to keep his name in the papers, especially with such a ludicrous statement about how he is ready to sign for Leeds........It is almost as laughable as him saying last season that he was looking to prove his fitness to Sven in order to put himself in the running for a place in the World Cup squad....!!!

This from a man who couldn't get a game for Walter Smiths dreadful Everton team.

The future for Gascoigne involves little more that the cliched end of the line for professional footballers, a pub dripping in horse brasses and replica shirts and maybe a summer football camp for people on the same intellectual level as himself.

 

Hes been pleading with Terry Venables to prove himself and give him a contract with Leeds Utd, I was laughing my head off when I saw that statement, and when he was on 'Goffy In The Morning' this morning on the phone telling them he felt fitter than he had done for 3 years, and he thinks he can still play at the highest level.

Within 15-20 minutes he'll be knackered and gasping for a pint.

He could probably play in the US League, as it is nowhere near as highpaced as a lot of other leagues, and its almost full of washed up players like himself, apart from DeMarcus Beasley, Landon Donovan etc.

And as somebody else pointed out, he'd fill a few stadiums there, but he might not aswell because the people who go to watch the matches there take their young kids and that, and its a family game and you can guarantee some journalist of some sort will bring up his past, wife beating, boozing, etc ...

Gazza 'loses feeling in face'


Former England star Paul Gascoigne has been treated in hospital after losing the feeling in one side of his face, it was reported today.

Gascoigne, 35, turned up at accident and emergency in Gateshead, near Newcastle, with his dad, John, at 12.45pm on Saturday, according to The Sun.

The ex-England and Newcastle star was complaining that the left side of his face was numb, said the paper.

A witness at Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth Hospital told the paper: 'A woman he obviously knew asked him what was wrong. He said the left side of his face had gone numb. He was rubbing his face.'

Gascoigne, who has played for Everton, Lazio, Newcastle and Spurs, is currently without a club after leaving Burnley in the summer.

He has been training hard over the past few months and hopes to sign-on and play for a new club soon.

His father told The Sun his son was fine and it was not a serious complaint.

The hospital refused to comment. Gascoigne could not as yet be contacted.

Gascoigne was simply the most talented english player ever to be born. He had a self destruct button too, however, I don't think he can be blamed for what happenned to him, someone with experience who was wise to the game and to gazzas situation should've taken him under his wing and done a better job of protecting him(like rooney for example). He still went on to have a decent career, playing in Italy as well as winning us 8 and 9 in a row, and who can forget euro 96? :tongue: IMO its no coincidence that he played his best football under a manager who understood how his mind worked and treated him as such.

In short it wasn't his fault and you are far too harsh on him.

Beckham is a puff, alls hes bothered about is how he looks, and hes always wanting to draw attention to himself, and then hes shocked because people dont like him, hes a poser.

 

OK, so Beckham is a bit of a poser, a total media whore, and probably a bit vain to boot...

He is also far and way the best player England have at their disposal by some considerable margin.

So we might just have to accept him for the way he is and not obsess so much about it...after all he is a bit thick, and can't seem to get an entire sentence out without at least 3 "Y' Knows"......
