Liverpool have recently dropping stupid points with good performances and lack of goals, the rot needs to be stopped on a permanent basis, the folloning week of fixtures can really shape our season, so we need to buil momentum and continuing winning. Playing at home we need to be tough and take the iniative from the start, play high tempo and deadly infront of goal, step forward Robbie Fowler :proud:, he has returned and now is needed now more than ever. We need to cut out mistakes and build up on a winning run again, as we are entering a tough glut of fixtures which can swing our season. We also need to keep close in our battle for 2nd place. The final pass and finishing needs to be worked on as well as the creative part of our game, no doubt Rafa will have spotted it and will work on this, hopefully it pays dividends on the pitch :hopefull:
  • Rafa has stated now that he has a fully fit-esque squad for a sustained period in his Anfield tenure, though Bolo is out for the season, hard luck as he was finding form. Garcia will be missed, his goal prsence and movement is really important for a Liverpool team who has strikers who contribute very little at this current moment :frownani:
  • Gerrard I feel will play out wide right with Didi and Xabi in the middle and two players who make the foundation solid and give the creative sparkand control the game. Also Kewell may play left midfield roaming with Morientes in the central deep role and all 3 exchanging positions from time to time, with Kewell possibly as left winger he now seems to be finding his fitness and form.
  • The strikers are unpredicatable as always :depress:, Morientes has lost his feet and seems to become less effective game by game. When Crouch plays we focus on long balls :yuck: and the game goes by Moro, who is less effective as he cannot link play. Cisse is the unpredictable one, he can do some awesome things then miss a one on one sitter, but his pace and his enthusiasm and the fact he's the most dangerous striker suggest he should play. Fowler is our hope for goals, though his fitness isn't the best and Rafa has stated he sees Fowler as an impact player off the bench and not as a starter.
  • The importance of a win are high, considering the league is starting to take a rigid shape and we want to keep in touch and now use one of our our game in hand, we had momentum and I'd love for us to sustain that again. We are third and if we win can closer to second :D:thumbsup: this would atleast show we're competing again.
  • A key part of us winning this match will be the defence, we have fifteen clean sheets in EPL a greater tally than what we had in EPL all last season, we should try and build upon that though we've started to make mistakes, if we cut out the defensive mistakes we can build on that as a foundation and go for the win.
  • We havent had a 5 game+ winning run in EPL for a long time prior to this season:eekani::frownani: I can't remember when we went on a major winning run last (2003?), but hopefully this can be a foundation and we can win and build momentum and go up the league.
  • We can win this match, though we have to be intense from the start, get dirty when need be, cut out the defensive mistakes and take our chances whilst also maintaining ball retention and creating chances throughout, then we can win, though this is a statement of the obvious. :D
COME ON REDMEN!!!!!

INJURY FRONT for
LIVERPOOL
Bolo Zenden- Out for a month, with a knee injury or something, really harsh as he was starting to find some good form forL:iverpool, hopefully i's a quick recovery

Luis Garcia- Knee injury flared up in reserve game, sorely missed. Needs to return ASAP.
  • NO MAJOR FIRST TEAM SQUAD INJURIES, HONEST!!!!!

i think we'll play

Finnan--Carra--Agger--Riise
---------Didi-Xabi---------
--Gerrard---Morientes--Kewell
----------Fowler----------

depends on fitness, hopefully Garcia is back, he's a good source of goals.

Don't see Agger playing, he only played 50 minutes for the reserves and he wasn't even on the bench today- obviously still not match fit imo. Don't see Hyypia being dropped neither.

unlucky for you that we have two defenders back, so we should be able to play a match with full backs this time. ;)

personally i would play

Eboue..Djourou...Sendo...Kolo

but i think Wenger will play

Eboue..Kolo..Sendo..Larsson
why not play Gilbert? at least he doesn't try to break the world record of making fouls like Eboue yesterday in the final!

Come on Pool, you've got our moral support. :proud: this is your chance to book your place for next years CL :proud:

keep the challenge to utd, like you said 2nd is the new 1st :D

unless you have a russian oligarch bankrolling you with money, seeing as our chairmans name is moores and not abramovic or gaydamak we don't qualify :D:pp

you never gave us points in the past and don't have a man called moggie running you, then we won't comply :D, we'll have to play for them

go for the 3 points, think about us, the team which has always been there to give you the 3 points at Anfield, the team which took Rocket Ronnie Rosenthal, John Scales, Ziege and Orvid Leonardsen off your books, the team too that provided you with Neil Ruddock and Paul Stewart.

Liverpool and Spurs, hand in hand, we go to next years CL :proud:

You can't wait for any of the matches where Liverpool have a chance of getting slaughtered like pigs in their pen...:D

It will be a great match for us, because it will either show if we have regained our confidence and concentration in the domestic league...:)
