It's time for Alvaro recoba to prove if he's really the talent he so much promises,For years he's been Promising but for various reasons he has'nt been able to deliver. The time is now you feel, make or break no matter what happens.

Schumy, I'll have to disagree with you. Recoba has already shown what a talent he is. He's scored several goals in Serie A and against several big teams. Despite injuries and other problems, he's always made a large contribution to Inter. This is true in spite of allegations of inconsistency, etc. I think he's being judged very harshly mainly because he didn't perform against Milan in the CL.

I would also say that he's probably the best free-kick taker around.

totally agree recoba have already proven himself, and he has awesome freekicks :star: !!!
the only problem is that he's prone injury!!! :moan:
just a question for u inter fan:who will play alongside adriano??martins or recoba!!(i've heard that mancini will with martins and adrino, vieri will be benched, and recoba wasn't mentionned at all)!!

ask Laporte, to put a pricetag on his head, so you can have him by newyearh :fester:

btw, we don't use him in the CL, we got way better options, so he won't be club-bound ;)
we don't need him we already have 2 good strikers!!!

sure, after kluivert and saviola are gone, i guess you'll have a hard time, but we'll see...

recoba could make an impact in spain, i believe..

btw does anyone know when we get biava back? where is he at the moment?

I know you guys watch inter a million times more than I do
But I'd have to agree with Schumy, Recoba has shown he is a great asset to the time, but I would not say he is world class. He is a great player, with glimpses of genious, but he is the most inconsisten player out there, and consistency is the name of the game.

I'm afraid this is correct. On a good day he's a world beater, but those days are starting to come few and far between, that's why he'll never be a true fuoriclasse.

Why do people call him worldclass? He always fail in big games (well, even in regular games too), he is INCONSISTENT to the maximum. Of course he scored some goals versus big teams etc.. Tare has scored 2 goals versus Milan, that doesn't say shiiiiitt. Oh his freekicks.. . Smell the coffe people (you should've done it 2 years ago), Recoba NEVER made it and I think it's kind of safe to say that it is also TOO LATE! To even consider him worldclass is laughable! He is very talented, agreed but he can't take it out on the pitch, that is the problem.

There's no doubt he has so much talent dude ;) ,But he has'nt taken the game of the scruff of the neck like we've all expected.I don't feel he's fulfilled much of his promise till now.Due to a variety of circumstances not all of his own making at times have contributed to this.

I agree to a degree.

As much as i would love to see a chino reaching his expected potential I dont really see that happening. Probably a few goals after several disappointing performances at best.

I just dont see how inconsistancy can reduce over this amount of time. Perhaps if Chino were a teen, then maybe. Consistancy on the field is psychological and I don't know if he is "smart" enough to overcome this problem.

We'd have veron in the AM area, and FW spots aren't vacant either. I only see him being a sub from time to time. But hopfully i'm wrong.

1 Question. Is Recoba better suited as a support striker or Playmaker? I know he usually plays as support striker but I tought that his attributes would be better suited with 2 strikers in front of him.

#14 ·
no doubt Recoba will still be a sub this season.

But I still want to say he is indispensable. Even Adrinao, or Bobo can't keep the top form all season long, not to mention the injury or sth else. Recoba always show what he can do and brings the max he can when we are in the difficult time. I still remember last season the match vs Chievo. What a star!

IT'S FUNNY THAT we always doubt Chino year by year, but unconsciously, Alvaro Recoba has been one of our most royal player.

One thing Chino is a great player

Second he has proven that he will never persistently produce this greatness

Hence he has no cemented place in our starting line up.

But when Recoba is injury and playing at his all he is an incredible player

That's because he's never been given a chance to start regularly except for the left wing debaclke a few years back. He will get his chance, lets give it to him.

Consistently inconsistent is what he is.
This sentence sums up Recoba's situation perfectly.

And to answer badanis's question, he's better off as a support striker. He's the Totti/Ronaldinho/Kaka type, not the Zidane/Rui Costa type.

Anyway, i wish him the best of luck. Because an on-form Recoba would be REAL SCARY. He can dribble, he's quick and he has a brilliant left foot.

mmmmmmmm

Recoba had many consistent periods in the team and rocked always UNTIL he played either Milan or Juve.

I can only remember 2 games against Milan where el Chino was at his best. In the first leg of the COpa Italia match in 2000 when we beat them 2-3 with Mutu scoring :D:D:D :D MUTU!!!!!!!! and then when we beat them in theleague that same year 2-1 with DiBiagio scoring the winner.

Other than that he always flops against Milan and Juve. And u know As great as CHino is he has never scored against Juve or Milan.

I remember El Chino's greatest moment, when he flicked the ball to Vieri in a derby and Vieri put it away on a first time shot. You can find it on the Internet.

Recoba is an engima - for all the massive talent he posseses, he just doesn't seem to be able to dispense it with regularity. Hence, he has become somewhat inconsistent over the years. He has great spells followed by bad ones; and this theme occurs throughout the season.

However, Recoba has always been a saviour for the club when he has really performed. Every season we say that the next will be a make or break for Recoba, but at the end of the day, Il Chino still stays on with the team, and he is still one of the brightest hopes for the season. There's just something about the man - his skills on his best day are dazzling, and are match winners at the very least.

Pulsar - Recoba has some really great moments. Remember when he took Roma apart 3-1 in season 2001/2002? :)

Anyhow, Il Chino will always be given the chance to perform as he holds huge promise which could be the key to a great season. Whether or not some of us are resigned to the fact that he is hugely inconsistent, you cannot deny the huge feelings of anticipation just before Recoba starts a game or is substituted in. You know that he will either utterly fail, or completely shine. And that unfortunately, is the story of Recoba in a nutshell. =/

Ciao,
Tim

Yes, great story of Recoba, XAVI.

I have hope and faith that if he is given the chance, he will perform. He will get the chance under Mancio and I will pray that he will perform.
One thing in his favor is that he will be playing regularly, and without a out of position position, such as left wing.

Adriano and Stankovic? Those are naturals. Stankovic is a very underrated asset, do you not agree?
