A presenziare alle celebrazioni a Superga era presente anche Dos Santos, il difensore centrale del Benfica che disputò l’ultima gara del Grande Torino. Dos Santos, che in quella partita giocò, commenta così quella squadra di Invincibili: “Erano dei campioni. E’ impossibile descriverli a parole. Quello che posso dire è che i loro giocatori erano immarcabili”.
La leggenda di quel gruppo mitico continua a vivere nei cuori della gente e proprio per questa ragione Dos Santos è venuto a Superga per commemorarli. “E’ un grandissimo onore per me essere qui, la cosa che mi ha colpito di più è che tutta la città sia scesa per onorare questa squadra e questi campioni. Sono davvero emozionato di essere qui e di dimostrare la nostra fratellanza”.

It's one of the rare cases where my Toro feelings don't quite accompany my club sympathies - 'cos I rooted for Porto since I can remember - but that doesn't mean I'm not tremendously moved with the fans and Dos Santos' visit.

One day I'll go up to the De La Luz I promise. Hopefully in a European match with you guys.

Speaking of Superga, I hope you guys have heard Glik's reading of the Immortali's names. He was so shaken! I'm a baby, folks, I cried aloud.
