Huge game, we have a terrible record against Chelsea and with the way they're playing now and the players they've got missing this is a massive chance to put one over Jose and co. Recent displays by us have been really dour and now that we have all our attackers back I hope we gradually get back to our best.

This will be Carlitos' game, he was our best player last week at Everton and I have a feeling he'll get his first goal for us on Sunday.

Prediction: 2-0 to United, Carlitos and Rooney both netting.

I'd like to see this team start:

--------Van Der Sar

---Brown - Rio - Vidic - Evra

Ronaldo - Scholes - Carrick - Giggs

-------Rooney - Carlitos

Chelsea always manage to do well at OT for some reason and I can see a draw here. Not a bad result for either team considering who they are both up against. I'm missing this game live, but judging from the past few meetings I won't be missing much.
It'll probably be a great game now. :D

But yeah, United v Chelsea in recent years have been pretty dull affairs and Chelsea have a great record against us at both Old Trafford but with their current on and off pitch problems, coupled with United getting their world class forwards back into the side, I just think we'll be a bit too much for them. Obviously Chelsea's chances rely heavily on Lampard and Drogba being fit but they haven't even been training according to Mourinho so I think we can safely say they won't play, you never know with Mourinho though so I won't be exactly shocked should they somehow be fit to play.

Carvalho is definetly out though, and he's another huge player for them. No excuses for United not to win tbh, a great opportunity to open up a gap on Chelsea and the next 4 or 5 games are much easier than some of the games we've had already this season.

With Mourinho gone, it is a massive boost for us not only for this game but I think the whole season. Would not be surprised at all to see Chelsea drop much more points then usual throughout the season. IMO, great news for us, to be fair. ;)

I would like to see this formation against Chelsea at the weeked:

----------van der sar
brown--ferdinand--vidic--evra
----------hargreaves
--------carrick--scholes
---ronaldo------------rooney/tevez
-------------tevez/rooney

Im not a huge fan of the 4-3-3/4-5-1 (or whatever you wonna call it) but I think it is important to play 'safe' against the big clubs. It might not be pretty but atleast it may give us the three points. With this formation, we will be able to match Chelsea's (most probable) 3-man midfield and even overshadow it, and at the same time be very dangerous going forward with 3 of the best attacking players in the league, if not the world. With the pace and strength these 3 players possess, I think we can very easily cause Chelsea alot of problems.

I really hope that Owen is back for this one. He will be a massive boost/presence in the match.

I predict a 1-0 win for United :D (keep em coming) with Ronaldo (The Prince of Manchester) to get the winner.

Jose's loss will obvioulsy have an effect on cheski....and the match timing couldnt have been perfect for us....I dont care for the loss of lampard But the key for me is drogba......

I wouldnt not play carrick against cheski...But if Owen is fit then it will be Owen+Schoels for me......and also iam concerned about saha Is fergue going to start him or as a substitute again..??

Cr7 is back in forma nd Rooney got soem good minuets against sporting thats a good sign for us....come on United...
1-0 to united Rooney with the goal.....

Wow, you guys are really optimistic about this one. The way SAf has been playing the formations lately really makes it an unpredictable game. We'll probably pull off a 5th consecutive 1-0 win if we play the 4-4-2.

1-0 Pique (just trying to get under someone's pants) ;)

mmm..i wanted gerard to be given start ahead of we brown But he did well IMO against sporting so Gerard will get to warm the bench this week end

It's about time we imposed ourselves in big games, rather than pandering to the other team's tactics and playing defensive.

ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.
yeah thats right..we got good enough defenders..to cope with that...Couple of Ronald's runs yesterday were breath taking......Hope he destroys belleti.....:boxing:

Splendid. Let's give them a jolly good kicking while they're down.

And Rita, I assume you're thinking of the West Ham effect of last season when talking of a new coach. I would add a caveat to that; It only works when the new coach is of a high(er) calibre.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea collapse with this Grant chap in charge. My opinion is that over the course of the season, people are going to realise what a great coach Mourinho truly was.

We're at home aswell, I expect us to take the game to them from the word go.
