Next 5 games will go a long way to deciding who wins the leagues looking at the respective fixtures of United and Arsenal - if we're still top of the league after that the main hard work might have been done.

Wolves on Saturday is the first step , we've already seen them trouble us at OT, beat Chelsea and Liverpool earlier in the season so this won't be straight forward at all.

Probable line up;

-------VDS
Rafael-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Nani-Carrick-Scholes-Giggs
-----Rooney-Berbatov

Harsh that Chicharito doesn't start again, but Berbatov won us the game at Blackpool and Rooney is our best player. Chicha should be a great weapon from the bench again.

Gonna go with a United win of the narrowest margins 0-1, Rooney with the goal. :hopeful:

Of the 5 game run the next 3 are extremely important to win in order to give ourselves the best haul possible out of the 15 pts we can get. Wolves away, City at home and Wigan away are seriously must wins regardless of Arsenal's results on the same weekends because thanks to Chelsea bottling it in December we have to visit Stamford Bridge and Anfield in the space of a few days.

Should we go into those two games with 9 points however, we should have the confidence to at least remain unbeaten in both games.

Wolves (a)
City(h)
Wigan (a)
Chelsea (a)
Liverpool (a)

Exciting times. Valencia being away all season has been a huge blow and with him coming back this month it should speed up the Rooney revival further.

I wonder how Nani will perform when he's, inevitably, asked to play on the left once more.

As for the game, this one has me worried. As you say, Wolves are no pushover and we never really inspire confidence when playing away from home lately. 1-0 win for us I say, last minute Hernandez winner after coming off the bench.

Considering that I am NEVER wrong, there really is NQAT.

Wow, been confirmed the Chelsea away game on 1st of March is highly likely to be moved further back again.

Chelsea's draw at Everton in the 4th round of the cup means they'll have to play a replay - but there is no date avaliable any time soon other than the date for the 5th round games (19th./20th Feb). So if beat Everton at home in the replay, their 5th round tie will end up having to be played on the 1st/2nd of March which is when we were supposed to visit Stamford Bridge.

This depends on Chelsea beating Everton in the replay of course. Think we'll have to cheer them on as it will be highly beneficial for us if the game gets postponed again. The earliest they could reschedule it for us seems to be mid-may from what I read and the league could be over by then.

Let's not forget it could also give us a whole weeks rest before the trip to Anfield.

Just been waiting for that to be confirmed. The posponements in the winter really have played havoc. It could be a double header in May. We could have Arsenal away then Chelsea home then Chelsea away a few days later.

They would probably want to schedule it that way, think we'd too far ahead of Chelsea by then, but at least the away trip won't come before we face them at Old Trafford.

Ideally it ends up in Mid May as one of the last 2/3 games and Chelsea haven't got a chance of catching us.

Beats going there in March midweek, few days before Anfield tbh. If we had lost there you don't know what sort of blip we'd enter.

Fully agree. Like you've said above, our schedule coming up is looking really tough. Normally I'd be hoping for a tough game or a decent away for the 5th round of the FA Cup but I was praying for an easy home tie just so we could get through with the squad players coming in. If the Chelsea game does get pushed back, which it should, then we're looking at a much steadier schedule rather than it being big game after big game.

Bolton's Korean was playing on Wednesday so yeah i'd expect Park to be on the bench for this. Can't see him going right back into the team yet.

There'll be a full weeks rest for Giggsy after the Wolves game anyway so i'd start with the way he's playing.

Major WOW if both Chelsea-United games happend in May. The two favorites for the league before the season started having their first meeting in the last month of the season. Disgrace really if true.

Why is Fletcher starting over Scholes? Has Fergie seen Fletcher away from home this season?

And who gives a damn about the topscorer award, we could win 0-1 in 95th minute and i'd be happy. We need to knock off the games one by one, people are chasing us.

Yeah, clearly.

BTW.

Berbatov's only scored in 3 away games all season, yes he turned up in 2nd half vs Blackpool but we need more from him and Wayne away from home now we've got our defence and most of midfield back.

Wow Arsenal just thrown away a 4 goal lead, a win tonight is even more massive now.

#29 ·
Could you ever see United throwing away a 4 goal lead? Or even 3 ? **** no.

Nearly 5-4 for Newcastle there aswell.

If Newcastle keep the 4-4 I wonder what it does to our team, possibly 7 pts clear would be a huge deal in February, I hope it doesn't make the players take it easy. We must win tonight.

Apparently its all the refs fault.

For giving 2 standard penalties and sending off that clown Diaby for a clear red card.

4-0 up and its all the refs fault they don't win, pathetic..... Should count themselves lucky they didn't lose with the ref disallowing a onside goal by Best.
