It is not over but right now, after 105 minutes in the 2nd leg, the score is 6-4 in their favor on aggregate. Berlusconi is at Pisa on the stands with Galliani, both ready to celebrate the promotion. Two huge mistakes of the defenders lead to the 4-3 and later, in the extratime, 6-4 on aggregate.

And Monza it is. The fifth club from Lombardia in serie A in the next season but we can also almost say the third club from Milan because the distance between Milan and Monza is laughable.
We could define it the last sporting miracle of Berlusconi (and Galliani). Now the question is: what are they going to do with the club in serie A? What kind of team are they going to build?

I really have no idea. It might be anything depending on what Berlusconi is ready to spend. I have learnt not to trust him whatever he says so just the transfer campaign will tell. My guess is that for the next season they will try to build a team which can easily reach 40 points.

Monza will surely approach a few of our young players on loan. Pobega, Maldini etc.
It will be a good for us too.
It would be great if Milan and Monza could have a mutually beneficial relationship. Aside from the likes of Maldini, Pobega, Gabbia, Colombo, also newly scouted players. Moncada finds some gem, who is not yet ready for Milan. We put him in Monza to develop. And if players have a breakthrough at Monza (that we've had no involvement in finding) then in return have a priority on them.

Reminds me of the CM days when I would sometimes manage two teams at a time (non-competitors), intending it to be a mutually beneficial relationship, though it never turned out that way in practice.

Anyway, is Moratti going to take Spezia to Serie A now?

Would love to see Moratti making a come back too. Its good to have this seasoned owners which will benefit the league and having more of that Italian soul.

The lineup of Monza 2022/2023 according to Gazzetta (100% certain it won't be that)

Cragno - Caldirola, Marrone, Ranocchia - Candreva, Mazzitelli, Barberis, Machin, Carlos Augusto - Destro, Mota Carvalho

Beside the fact that there is no way that this one will be the lineup, above all for tactical reasons (Ranocchia would be the replacement for Marrone in a 3-man defense and I can't see a 35 years old Candreva being a wingback covering all the flank any more) the additions do not really add much (bar the goalie, a clear improvement) and what was there in 2020/2021 might not be enough.

lol, he was (up to now is) at Sampdoria and I tell you that it would indeed be a problem. :ROFLMAO:

Then again, numbers mean little, if the right center back was a player like Bereszynski and the 3-man defense was indeed a 4-man one with a left wingback who defends rather than attacking then the team could be balanced.

They are asking Roma for El Sharaawy from what I hear. And someone should tell them Bernardeschi is available for free. Tho doubt he is gonna go to Monza. He is leaving Juve (praise Jesus! ) because he thinks he is worth 4m salary.

BTW I think that ANY club of serie A would sign Bernardeschi, for the right amount of money. If the player/his agent are smart enough Bernardeschi could reach 4m with bonuses (which obviously have to be reached through performances... mmmmeh!) and Bernardeschi could play for a club which competes for the CL spot if not for the scudetto.

Ranocchia from Inter on a free. The first player is relegation material. More players like Ranocchia and they fall to serie B like stones. It won't happen, the other players who could join Monza according to rumors should keep them in serie A. I think that it is not unlikely that Ranocchia will play for Monza the amount of games he played for Inter.
