Definite possibility that Taarabt may not stay, so Menez has been brought in. Not the most exciting of transfers, but let's give him a chance and see what he can bring.

 

Not the most exciting signing as Rod says… but he's certainly got ability. He seems like an almost custom made replacement for Taarabt, but who knows if we'll try to keep both in the end. Seems unlikely to me, but I'd prefer Robinho to leave instead --it probably would not make a huge, huge difference anyway IMO.

We have as it stands Menez + Kaká + Robinho + Honda + El Shaarawy + Saponara + maybe Taarabt in attacking midfield, and a few potentially offensive central midfielders like Montolivo, Cristante, Poli… Maybe even add some youngsters to the mix. Menez hardly solves our most urgent issues. Surely a couple of them attacking mids should be leaving.

Moreover, that's a lot of players, likely on pretty high wages, and not a single one of them looks like he will be world class for us in the near future.

 

Well right now we have El Shaarawy, Birsa, Robinho and Niang who plays on the wing. Kaká, Saponara and Honda shouldn't be in the competition with the aforementioned for a spot really.

So Menez replacing one or all of Robinho, Birsa and Niang is not something that bothers me. Neither of them were exactly important to us this past season nor would I be sad to see them leave.

For this Serie A and without Europe I think it does. However, it does depend a lot on injuries on El Shaarawy, Menez's motivation and how good Honda really is for the Serie A.

We can only hope. Kaká is great at bringing that Milan spirit in the locker room and on the pitch, but he has been bad pretty much the whole second half of the season so I would rather want to see Honda or Saponara tried out.

Well it seems the rumors of his separation from Caroline were false.. Based on his Instagram, anyway..

 

I don't mind Menez (depending on salary...), he does not make the squad any worse and could be an improvement. We shall see.

 

Talented of course, but not very concrete. His stats are horrible but oh well, there's more to football than stats, I guess :groan:
