What a fantastic match, this deserves a thread, I celebrated like a fool when Bellamy equalized, and well... this is football at it's most exciting.

I don't think I'll see a better match this season. What a cracking match, MOTM Giggs or Given.

It was pretty amazing, both teams going at each other full pelt. Some great games lately.

Did you even watch the match? He made some absolutely terrific saves, if it weren't for him, Mancs would've been annihilated.

Both defences were terrible, which is why there were so many goals scored.

Another Old Trafford referee special. Man U outplayed Man City off the park in the second half, however, it doesn't change the fact their winner was scored 5m, 40seconds into ET when the clock read only 4 minutes of added time. A 30 second max restart after the Bellamy goal and a 10second Carrick substitution does not equal 1min 40seconds anywhere except when it is manu playing and they need a goal. No one here is seriously stupid enough to believe that if Manu had been winning 3-2 the ref wouldn't have blown at 4mins or even sooner, in spite of any substitution delays or otherwise. I don't give a shit about City, but this kind of favor Manu gets has to ****ing stop, the people in the FA and ref association who allow this should be in jail.

Fergie pandering, most Ref's are genuinely scared that they will be in charge of a Man Utd upset. The Ref's heart probably sank when Bellamy got the equaliser. You dont get much more blatant bias, especially when the time wasting sub was a Man Utd one. When team's are winning they do a time wasting sub, Man Utd were losing and made a sub, got a minute and a half out of it.

A really great match, must be the best this season but somebody tell me why the ref give 4 minutes of added time when nothing major happened in the 2nd half? Mark Hughes must have wanted to do a "Adebayor" to the ref right then.

Forget the 4 min extra time, the point is the ref went way way beyond that to accommodate ManU, who only needed the time to score. Again, manu were the better team, but these kinds of criminal favors affect the table in a big way.

It was quite funny he even gave 4 minutes of ET when the game didnt have any stops except the substitutions and goals. I knew at that time the game will continue until MU scores a goal

No, we will be beyond hope far before then. Harry is starting with Jenas at left wing, so he obviously does not have a clue how to manage a team tactically.

Atrocious defending, but fun to watch (though bad defending doesnt mean more entertaining, Bellamy's 2nd goal was a total joke by Rio and Foster). Giggs was unsong in this game. The ending was fun, though I agree it was bit much to go overboard with the overtime like that.

Rio made a bad initial mistake but then he made that mistake against one of the fastest guys in the EPL. Definetley more of a keeper mistake but hard to blame him either.

I think it was just some great skill from both teams..not so much bad mistakes or anything.

Chelski got 13mins of injury time to score both their goals last week .

Ref just evening up the playing field . . ;)

United were winning 3-2 when the 4 mins were decided on so fk u if you think the ref was doing united a favour!

And nothing disguises the fact that United deserved a win . .

4 subs = 2 mins (one of them in injury time which = 4.5mins straight away)

4 goals = 80 Secs

Wasted time = 1 min at least (city wasting time as they were getting owned!)

Theres 4 and a half mins there . .

A ref playing 1 or 1.5mins injury time in a game wouldnt be lambasted . .Its united so we are fair game .

Oh yeh and WHERE ARE UNITED GOING TO GET THE GOALS WITHOUT RONALDO . . . ;)

What the hell is that supposed to mean, it is allowable as long as it favors the title contenders? :howler:

Love that Manu sense of entitlement, will come up with justifications for anything.

And Italian league fans would not know this stuff.

I mean its easy to defend when 10 guys are back and you never cross the other teams half.

But doing both can be challenging :D

And imo, that is what creates good games. Clubs that go forward and back together, and that way are able to have some good passing/control all the time.

Maybe the rules should be changed then Remi, clearly we now see the most exciting period in games are the last 10 minutes and extra time.

It's time Platter increased the length of the second half to 50 minutes. Football will become even more exciting and unpredictable, that five minutes seems to make all the difference in the world for some reason.

See this post from GW:
There were four substitutions, rule of thumb says 30 seconds for each. There were also six goals, so you have to take into account the time between the goals and the opposition team taking kick off again. Then add on the time taken for our ELEVEN corners (City had one too) and the free kicks (31 fouls in the game in total).

And on top of the four minutes the ref gave, you have to take into account the following:

Bellamy's celebration. The cunt scored at 89:54 and we didn't kick off until a minute later.

We got a corner at 92:15, which we didn't take until 92:55 because of the substitution. That's another 40 seconds.

City got a throw in at 94:12, which they didn't take until 94:30. 18 seconds.

We had a free kick at 94:46 that we didn't take until 95:14 because Barry kicked the ball away. 28 seconds.

Owen scored at 95:27.

Happy now?

Saying that, I'd be livid if I was Citeh, fair or not fair. Oweeeeeen:proud:

And I should mention its not just tiredness. Weaker teams will re-treat very late in games because they want to keep a result but that is the worst thing to do against very talented teams. You need to maintain pressure, the same way you did through-out most of the game..but logically teams think they can just "hang-on".
