A new chapter in the seemingly endless club vs. country battle..

Mali's French coach, Jean-Francois Jodar, is displeased with the manner in which FIFA handled the Kanoute-Diarra saga. Football's governing body informed the Malian football federation of the decision (to allow both players to stay with their clubs) only four days prior to Mali's ANC Qualifier!

Apologies for not providing an English article, though I'm sure this will catch up soon.

Real Madrd > Mali.

Not only friendlies have to be played in European countries but now not even official competitions are respected. Football each time one step further from passion, its becoming as exciting as an NBA final of Spurs vs Cleveland.

Mali isn't alone, FIFA doesn't respect Brasil either. If they did, Robinho would have followed FIFA's rules and would be training with the Brasilian NT for the Copa America today.

At this point I don't even believe that FIFA will follow their own rules and punish Madrid with the loss of 3 points if they field Robinho sunday, as apparently Real is above the laws (there was a rumor this week that FIFA had allowed Robinho to play but FIFA denied it, as if their opinion mattered). And that's just how it is, Real is protected not only by Spanish referees but also by FIFA.

Its getting pretty sickening. More and more glaring for the ANC because they can be pushed around without much consequences. The ANC will be interesting for all the wrong reasons, there allways arguements of players going there, and clubs forcing them to stay aslong as possible or even returning back and forth in the middle of it!

But this time I'm afraid it will be ALOT worse. Wonder which player will be forced to retire from his country by his club.

Blatter's been a Real Madrid fan his whole life.

"I cannot deny that my heart is with Madrid," he said. "I simply cannot avoid that.

"Di Stéfano was an idol of mine when I was small, and I have been a Madridista since," he continued.

"It is a matter of pride to be partner of that club.

"The end of the La Liga title race will be full of emotion, but I already know where my heart is."

You should feel lucky Robinho is missing, the guy is lame.

Diego is the future

If I were FIFA's president, my decision would be to punish Barcelona and BIlbao:

Real Madrid 0-6 Mallorca (3 because of Robinho and 3 because of Diarra)
Sevilla 0-3 Zaragoza (3 because of Kanoute)

And everything solved. :lala:
You just sound like Franco there.

Certain rules should be applied on everyone, irregardless of reputations and influence. Of course, that's utopian especially when it comes to a business like FIFA, alas..

If a National team has a scheduled qualifier (not a friendly, not training camp, but a qualifier) it's a country's right to call-up their best players. End of.

FIFA have opened a can of worms.

Hypothetcially speaking - What if a club from Egypt (which has a Malian international on its roster) has a domestic Cup final to play during the Mali qualifier? What will FIFA decide? To let the player participate in a Cup final or fly to line up for his country?

Importance is relative. As much as Real's game is vital to the Madrid fans, I'm pretty sure Malians care about their country.. no?

Talks the fan of the club that made Lauren to retire from NT :D

Hehe you will be ****ed with Toure, Eboue and Adebayor.

We didn't make Lauren do anything of course. We had it a couple of years back with Eboue and Toure sodding off right when we had tough winter games up north and we suffered. But everybody knows the score with african players, part of the deal.

Losing Adebayor will improve the team.

Not if Baptista and Alidiere is all they have ;) And Ade works pretty well with Henry.

#23 ·
Baptista won't be there of course, and Aliadiere is likely being sold. Henry, RvP, Bendover, all better than Crapdebayor. If by working well with Henry you mean screwing up the countless wide open goal chances he gets, I agree with you.

I like it, I find it amusing.

Bapdebayor is the Baptista-Adebayor combo.
