Thats what he will be remembered by. At least by me.

And the great strike against England at the EC2000.

Still bitter, huh?

There are 4 things you need to know:

1) Figo is not Catalan therefore there was no obligation due to his heritage to play for Barça his entire carrer
2) Figo wanted to stay in Barcelona but the club was so cheap and didn't make the slightest attempt to even come close to Madrid's bid.
3) There have been a number of players that have switched form Barça to Real Madrid or vice versa in the past and this will continue to happen in the future.
4) I am a fan of FC Porto and although they are a half decent team, they are far from being a super club. Every year I see our best players leaving for either a bigger club or one who's willing to pay more money. It makes me sad but there is really nothing us fans can do about it. This is the way things are in football, as well as others sports. So get used to it and stop whinning about loosing players to other clubs.

In conclusion, it was Barça's fault he left.

Now responding to the thread topic, in my opinion, Figo is Portugal's best player of all time. Some would say Eusébio, others C. Ronaldo or Rui Costa, I say it is Figo. I guess everyone has their opinion.

He was missed the second he retired from the Portuguese NT due to his skills, tactical awareness, leadership on and off the field. The team went to shambles the minute he left. You don't replace someone like him easily...

Bravo Figo.

Very embarrassing, seriously get a hold on yourselves, its pathetic. Leaving one thread be is easily doable.

Relax both of you, its a bit of banter. Besides, as already mentioned he always left through the back door. Everyone knows hes one of the best of his generation, but you gotta love the contrasts right now: Luis Loyalty Figo and Paolo Moneygrabber Maldini :D
And I can imagine what some of the Italian fans will think of Nedveds retirement btw :pp

We just won the double, genuis. Yeah, bitter. ****ing fanboys.:rollani:

He scored a goal for us against Madrid in 97-98 I think, in a 3-0 win. A deflected cross landed at his feet. He shimmied a bit, then had Roberto Carlos on toast before screaming a magnificent drive across the keeper into the net just inside the post. That is my prominent memory of Figo. The moment that defined what a magnificent player he was.

Can we please have those posts from DEportivo and Koeman4 deleted? There is absolutely no need for this in a frigging tribute thread.

The Barcelona fans here are seriously the biggest bunch of wankers you'll ever see. Internet heroes, the lot of them. Thread says tribute to Luis Figo, and we see a bunch of heroes coming in and thinking they're going to "look cool" or "get more respect" if they insult Figo because that apparently that makes them "more of a cule". No that makes you more of an idiot.

Lets all hope he breaks his legs, ffs. What the **** is wrong with people.

Absolutely no respect, if the aftermath to the Chelsea match wasn't proof enough of what they were, this definitely is. Total heroes.

K4, why do you not stop after being asked to? Be sensible, JA, don't be this type of idiot.

Come on, Josh, I'm sensible... it's just a bit of humour... after all he will also be remembered by this, isn't it?

It's not that Real Madrid and Figo end up with love with each other... it's strange that the madridistas don't show up to insult him too.

In fact, was he loved anywhere? :D

:howler:The Cules are really embarassing themselves here. You know you suck when no one needs to put you into your place and you still look like a complete idiot(s).

I think thats crossing the line a bit...

He was a great player, one of the outstanding ones of his generation but he had his fair share of vices. And the way he left both Barca and Real, through the backdoor will be a part of his legacy. Like his legacy will be forever tied with the way he parted from Barca and signed for Real.

No one will remember him for the way he left. Just like Zidane will be remembered as a legend and not a headbutter. The only people who will have bad memories of him are Cules.. And let's be honest, no one takes you seriously and that's evident in this thread.

.. Oh wait. 'The Green One' stuck up for you. You must feel special.

Oh... If you can quote someone in this thread who is not an idiotic clue who finds this funny, then I will give you an 'E' for effort for your humour. But you can't do that, so you get an 'F'.

And your opinions are worthless in every thread so perhaps you should STFU.
:howler:

Do I know you?

The more the love... the more the hate.

Cant see a Gudjohnsen or a Thiago Motta going across would have sucn an effect ;)

Figo knew such hatred would be there.. he did it anyway. He doesnt care (why should ppl on XT), as his Self Interest / Desire comes first to him.

let them be ;)
