Viitorul - CFR Cluj

Poli Timisoara - Pandurii

Voluntari - CSMS Iasi

On February the last 3 rounds of the regular season will be played. After that the play-off (first six teams in the table) and the play-out (the rest) will begin.

Champion and runner-up teams will play CL preliminaries.

Third and fourth placed teams will join the Cup champion in the EL.

The last 2 teams at the end of the season will relegate, and the team in the position #12 will face a Liga II team.

CFR and Petrolul will start with -6 points.

Good luck to everybody.

This is crazy early, lmao. Very exciting design though, I like it. Hopefully it will generate more success for our league, even with all the problems we still have.

It's so strange to have only fourteen teams... but it makes more sense than having 18 with four extra that are weaker and the funds and talent dispersed..

Botosani 2 - FK Krasnodar 0

Iliev (Pleşca ‘62) - Dimitrov, Cordoş (Cucu ‘62), Plămadă, Browne - Vaşvari (Robertson ‘75), Costin - Neziri (Ivanovici ‘46), Croitoru (Brata ‘62), Martinus (Batin ‘46) - Hadnagy (Roman ‘46)

Hadnagy and Ivanovici with the goals.

Robertson is a Scottish midfielder. He got a couple of caps with his NT in the past.

Tg.Mures 1 - Kukesi 0

Goal by Axente.

It looks like Petrescu is insisting with Brandan as LB.

Big problems for Tg.Mures

Some players and even Dan Petrescu will leave soon.

Another team that won't do a shit in Europe. They shouldn't have gotten a license to play continental tournaments.

what i always ask myself in the cases of Targu Mures, Urziceni, Otelul.....why even fight for a good position AND Europe when you suddenly :rollani: (like nobody knew before this could happen..aha) realise you can't "afford" this team...wtf!!? yeah we qualified for CL but yeah, we won't try hard too much, but yeah, thanks for the loads of money, we will invest it in sports cars...

Petrescu is a disgrace, so happy he never became NT coach, as a coach he is just like many of our players, going for the money instead of a good career

Petrescu = gunoi. Fvck him and the rest of the idiots in our football. Fvck them all. I hope they rot. I'm sick of this, waiting year after year for improvements, for promises to stick, but it never changes.

Guys, don't bother following Romanian football, you'll only keep getting disappointed. I'd almost rather be a country with shit talents and little footballing culture/history that tries hard and does great job of organizing etc (ex. Iceland, Faroe Islands) than a country that has always had potential but doesn't give a shit about anything other than money (and not even making it in a smart way, a system that would created solid investments in the long run; just quick returns) and stupid personal grudges. Even fvcking Burleanu is a piece of shit liar and politician. Fvck them all. No wonder people talk shit about Romania, even if it's for the wrong reasons. They deserve it.

I think that this league is gonna be very interesting. Hard to predict too.

Looking at all the teams, only Voluntari may seem clearly weaker than the rest, also having no Liga I experience.

On top, Only Steaua and Astra seem on a higher level than the rest regarding their squad.

Of course, if some teams fall appart they might become the usual team that looses most games, but aside from that unpredictable factor, I think we´ll have many interesting games and results. Besides, the play off system will bring exciting games at that point

I'm looking forward to seeing how these FC Voluntari and Poli Timisoara teams fare. I think both can avoid relegation, but this season will be more competitive/intense. I can't see Steaua winning the title again with the team they have now, they are disgraceful.. excluding them, Targu Mures, Astra, Craiova, Petrolul, Botosani, Dinamo will be the main contenders for the title and Europe. Pandurii, Viitorul, Iasi, and Concordia will have an outsiders' chance though and could cause some surprises. CFR Cluj is a bit of a ? for me at this point, they looked very strong last season despite the point deductions but they have some issues still. I'd consider them among favourites for Europe and have a chance for the title too, but they would need to fix their issues to even qualify.. I would love to see some surprises by the two promoted teams.

With only fourteen teams in this league now, every round will be exciting! Our prediction league points will be smaller though, thus every game will be very important.

EDIT: I forgot there is a championship round and a relegation round. Makes things more interesting, consistency will matter in getting these spots but anything can happen in elimination. Just look at U Cluj who reached the Romanian Cup final last season.

The play-off and play-out phases:

After the regular season, 26 rounds, the first 6 teams will play for the title and European spots. It won't be elimination, but a league system with those 6 teams (playing again home and away). So if Steaua and Dinamo are in the top-6 in March when the regular league ends, we'll have 4 big derbies in the league.
The points of each team will be reduced by half at the start of the play-off.

The play-out will be exactly the same but with the other 8 teams, trying to avoid relegation.

-European spots: Champion and runner-up go to CL qualifiers. 3º and 4º go to EL joining the Cup champion.

-Relegation spots: 13º and 14º will relegate. 12º will play a baraj against a Liga II team.

I think Viitorul has a squad to enter the play-off.
I bet Steaua, Astra, CFR and probably Tg.Mures will make the play-off. The other two places will be disputed by Petrolul, Craiova, Dinamo and Viitorul.

Better this than going to Arabia, China or some obscure team in an obscure league.

Anyway, Nistor free of contract should get a transfer in a decent Western team or league. But our market is probably in the worst moment ever.

for the older generation maybe, but sarmisan is sending Romanian kids to big European clubs more than ever before.
