Match Real Madrid - Betis
Date Saturday 15-10-2011
Time 18:00
Venue Santiago Bernabeu
Matchday 8

Let’s Back to laliga after two weeks off and except for Albiol (cheek bones) and Alonso we have no major injuries reported. One other good news is that both Pepe and Coentrao are training normally since Monday. Our International players had almost successful results as most of them returned home victoriously.

I believe no one more than Higuain enjoyed this international break as he managed to net 3 vital goals in 2 World cup qualifying matches with Argentina. It looks like the old back pain is now vanished and he feels great and ready to help us in the league and Champions league.

Week 8 means we meet Real Betis at the Bernabeu on Saturday. Betis had a superb start in the first 4 weeks of the new season and they even claimed the first place for a couple of weeks but two consecutive losses against Getafe and Levante sank them to the 7th place with one point behind us and two points behind the leader Barca and Levante. Betis promoted back to laliga after spelling two years in the Segunda and they look so motivated and rejuvenated in all cylinders.

With a short glimpse at the stats we can see the game between the two teams do not usually end with a lot of goals for either side and the only exception is when we met then at home in 2009 as we managed to thrash the verdiblancos with 6 goals, thanks to Captain Raul with 2 goals, Huntelaar 2 and both Gonzalo and Ramos with a single goal.

Needless to say , our opponent have had a benefit of two weeks off to regroups and shake off some minor injuries and study the loss against Getafe and Levante. We of course have the home advantage but then again we need to line up against Lyon there days later.

Hala Madrid

It's important that Özil gets some rest. We should have no worries resting him once in a while, as long as Kaka is in form.

As the season progressed last year, Mesut seemed to be getting tired, and he will be needed in top form in the second part of the season.

no he has just started with the training with the squad 2 days ago I guess its simply too early and they want to go for sure he doesnt have a fall-back.

CR will never rest.

With the squad list revealed I'd go with
Casillas
Ramos Pepe Varane Marcelo
Khedira Xabi
Di Maria Kaka Cristiano
Higuain
I agree Ozil needs to rest but I can see him maybe start if Arbeloa is in RB, shifting Ramos to CB instead of Varane.

Subs I expect to see play are Benzema, Ozil and Altintop/Coentrao

If Cristiano Ronaldo features in this match, then it will be his 100th official match for Real Madrid. He has featured in 69 La Liga matches, 8 Copa del Rey matches, 20 Champions League games and 2 Spanish Super Cup fixtures. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 95 goals in those 99 matches.

Btw, from Jose's press conference yesterday:

"Karim and Gonzalo have completely different DNA, they can play together without any problems"

Such a shame he won't actually pair them on a regular basis, as without a third striker I doubt he would do that.

What about Coentrao he is fully fit maybe good to get him back up to game speed
