The most crucial game of the season. This game surely will determine whether we'll still have a chance to retain the title or not.

It's well known that Atletico are our bogey team and we've not been able to beat them on their own turf for 7 years plus Torres seems to always produce his best game of the season against us.

We'll need to end this red&white domination in order to keep our chances alive. Not an easy task at all but WE CAN DO IT. I have faith in this team.

SOM-HI NOIS

Probable line-up:
---------------Valdes---------------
Belletti--Marquez--Puyol---Zambrotta
---------------Motta--------------
--------Iniesta--------Deco--------
--Messi---------------------Ronaldinho--
----------------Eto'o-----------------

Time and venue:
LFP | Sunday, 20 May (21:00)CET League. Jornada 35 | Estadio Vicente Calderon

Gonna be a battle.

Gonna have to bring your bag lunch and hard hat to work on this one fellas. It's gonna be brutal. No breaks, no favors, no mercy!!! I can't wait for this match, dammit!!!

Oh and Maximiliano my man, this is for you :yuck: :pp

well it will be a battle.atleti played awesome football against getafe scoring four goals.torres also played really well(bet he will score:) ).

If Torres scores one, then we'll just have to score two! Whatever it takes, no more midweek games, all we need is 90 minutes of full effort and for heaven's sake to find a way to finish our chances!!!

If we want to win this game, we'll have to sustain a high tempo for most of the match.

Atletico are slow in building up their attacks so if we play fast as we k now to do we should be able to get something from this game.

BTW what would be your prefered line-up for this game guys?

DIX in the Calderon seems a bit risky to me. And Thuram latest displays doens't fill me with confidence, I prefer to have Marquez if he's fit enough.
Marquez didn`t train today and i doubt he would be ready for 90 minutes. If he is then he should play DM because i can`t see how Motta or Edmilson are going to do any better than Iniesta there.

I just thought of something. Why not use Frank in the DM role behind Iniesta and Deco? He can still do it, the old fox.

Get him some shorts, a jersey and he'll clean-up even with his smooth leather shoes.

Guys, don't you ever feel the aggrevation in moments like this, isn't so much the disappointment after a match, not even really the fear of losing Liga, but the fact we have to wait a whole week to see if there is a response? I wish all the remaining games could be played in consecutive days and we could stop the torment sooner one way or another.
Anyways, I don't care who starts this match as long as its a winning team.

Couldnt agree more, the waiting for the games is the worst part. I can't stand it, just play already!

just some things to kick around...

1) Rijkaard biggest mistake this season was changing formation in a crucial moment in CL without any previous experience to back it up, the way barça went out shot their morale a bit and in a point there is very little recovery time.

2) After losing Copa and with full chances to Win La Liga I just can´t believe there are fans in Camp Nou that went into the last game to protest against the team, with banners and such. If thats the trend in the last few games I say it will be hard to win the next 4 games.

If the lack of organization at the back for Barca continues, Fernando Torres will eat you alive. He simply doesn't miss chances against you guys and looks like the best striker on the planet in these games. Puyol will need to be man-marking him, and as great as Puyol is, Torres has beaten him many times over the last couple of years in these fixtures.

I really thought you'd beat Real Betis as I said in that match thread, but for this game, even regardless of the result against Betis, I always felt Atletico would win and get the three points.

#25 ·
Depends, we'll create chances like always, but can we score them?

We should've (key word should) beaten Betis hands down. Just like we should've beaten Villareal. Comes down to finishing. We keep getting clear chance after chance but blow them all and keep the game close, losing it in the end when we seem to be always the more tired team.

If we finish our chances, we'll win.

Way to go out on a limb:pp

Seriously, his finishing is disappointing because he gets into dangerous positions so often, damn Nike boots :yuck:
i was actually angry when he scored with the spanish national team against England, he struck it from outside the penalty box and yesterday against Betis he missed from penalty range inside the box!
