Huge anticipation for this classico, mother of all classicos. Then again im not sure if its really the case because only a few seasons ago we anticipated a similar classico. but i guess this is huge in the amount of stars on show. the first leg (if you will) was big, but i think the media went easy on real madrid due to the fact the team had been together mere months. it is a different case now.

There is nothing i can say that will do any justice to how big of an occasion this really is. i think we noticed the head in the clouds football from our palyers against racing, and those clouds were of the santiago bernabeu and the visit of barca.

I know both sides have said that this game isnt the be all and end all, but thats bullshit. psychologically it is huge. there are 8 games left in the season, but this matters most. if you remember last year when we on our 17 game unbeaten streak, things collapsed as soon as barca came and gave us a rogering of a lifetime. then we lost the next 5 games i think. but its not about losing the next game, it just creates a points advantage and a head to head advantage.

a victory here will not mean our boys will relax, i really doubt it. it will mean an extra spring in their steps for the next 7 games. as per usual we have no CL football to look forward to int he coming months.

on their end they do. they have arsenal midweek who i dont think will put up a fight. they may, but theyre missing half their team anyway, and they got slapped around for an entire half at the emirates. here they are the camp nou.

we palyed welll in the first leg, but like we do against all big teams, we miss the chances we get and end up losing. we defended extremely well.

so far no injuries for our boys. i expect xabi to slot back into midfield and i think mdiarra will keep his position. lass will stay benched. vdv and granero will make up the rest of the midfield, though i wouldnt mind if gago started ahead of granero. however that fvcks around with the dynamics a bit. kaka is due back, but id vomit if he started.

Hala Madrid.

Kaka's best game was against Barca at Camp Nou. Remember that.

I can't wait for this game. I wish I was at the Bernabeu. I hope the fans make it hell for Barca.

A POR ELLOS CAMPEONES!

Before the atmosphere boils up, I want to remind you all that we and you are the happiest fans in the world, having this game at least twice a year. Others can never feel a pre-clasico fever, nor the joy of winning it, nor the pain of losing it. Our debtful clubs have the richest supporters.

Let there be no injuries and no ref errors. Long live El Clasico, meringues!

And before this goes any further, let me remind you something...

This is not a parade, this is war. I don't want to hold your hand in song, I want to hold your hand and push you over a cliff.

So, let there be tons of injuries, lots of referee errors that result in Real Madrid goals, but most importantly... let there be a White victory.

A good day to you, sir.

Why would I come off as frustrated? Is my team struggling or any less than yours? No. I just don't buy your nice little attitude here when the truth would be in Forum 71, and it's far from "let's all hold hands and be gay together." You're not fooling anybody here, nobody from either side just wants to see a nice game or any of that crap. I want a 10-0 Real Madrid win, with multiple Barca red cards, Real Madrid PKs, and a boot to Messi's face. Let's be out with it, none of us want a nice friendly game.

No, Josh, you're wrong. We felt very good by achieving a nice win last year. That was no crap or gay, and I prefer that kind of victory.

Last year, lack of multiple red cards didn't spoil the joy, neither lacking of a boot in the face of some RM player. Iniesta's briliance, for example, was better than his eventual braking leg tackle.

However, I was reminding how happy we are to have this Clasico thing and I'm 100% honest by saying that.

Anyways, no training today as Pellegrini have given the squad the day off.

Return to training tomorrow, only the warm-ups will be visible to the media and fans in attendance, the session will be behind closed doors.

Pellegrini also has two training sessions per day scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. So, one tomorrow, two the next day, two the day after, and then one on Friday. Lots of work to be done this week before the game, lots of opportunities for the injured players to prove their fitness.

It seems that during the past few years, the games at the Bernabeu had more goals than the ones in the Camp Nou. So one thing is certain, there will be goals ... and quiet possibly lots of them.

Pep, Valdano, Pellegrini etc.. can say all they want about the game.. but we know the truth and that's this game is worth SEVEN points.

Should there be a Barcelona victory, we're going to be 3 points less, head-to-head advantage to them and therefore we'd required Barcelona to lose a game and draw another! (which is unlikely to happen in those 7 games).

A draw would mean equal points... but in practice it's a +1 for Barcelona

Should we win with a 1-0... it's similar points and it's down to GD which would mean Real Madrid and Barcelona going all out attacking in their seven games :D... a 2-1 is not exactly a 3 points advantage either.. as if they equaled us they'd come on top. Finally a 2-0 etc.. means a 4 points advantage for us.

Most important game of the season in La Liga.. its a SEVEN points game with 5 different scenarios..

I WANT to see THIS formation:

HIGUAIN - RONALDO
VAAN DER VAART
MARCELO - ALONSO - M. DIARRA
ARBELOA - RAMOS - ALBIOL - LASS
CASILLAS

why marcelo? because he is playing in midfield and not on defence, can provide a quick counter attack as our midfield without him would be abit slow (ala garrincha :D) not that barca's is any faster by all means, can put some crosses and attack through the flank, but most importantly can keep up with messi's speed.

I'm sure most of you wont have any problem with the rest of the line up.

Super SUBS: Benzema in 65 min, Kaka in 70 min, Guti in 80 min

Bring them cules on :boxing::spank::righton::ass:

HALA :worship: :star::star::star::star::star:MADRID:star::star::star::star::star: :worship: :proud:

They're both hurt, that's why. Lass returned to the squad this past weekend against Racing, but all him and Benzema did was some running around and warming up on the sidelines. Kaka wasn't even called up, still fighting his mystery Ronaldinho-like injuries in the pool and gym. He comes out to kick a ball around in the last 15 minutes or so of training, yet Marca and AS continue to say he might be ready for Saturday. :rollani:

Lass as RB is madness man!...he's already out of form as it is in the Mid, to bring him in as a RB would be even less wise, but as you said this is what you want....

I would hope for this lineup

Casillas
Ramos-Albiol-Garay-Arbeloa
---------Lass-------
-------Xabi ----VdV/Marcelo
---------VdV/Kaka------
-------Higuain--CR9------

Regarding the lineup, some of my opinions:

- Marcelo was horrendous, in midfield, at Camp Nou. The nerves got the best of him. He had a Sneijder first touch all game long, his passes were all over the place, and he got nutmegged on two occasions. All he did was run around like a chicken with its head cut off.

- Lass has sucked in our big games, too. See my chicken without a head comment above, same applies here. Rash challenges, caught out of position all game, he gets dominated by organized midfields. Also, he's been on a ridiculously poor patch of form in the last 4-6 weeks. Can't be ignored.

- Mahamadou Diarra is yet to lose a Clasico. His sense of positioning and extremely simple ball management make him a huge threat against Barca. He covers so much ground, not due to pace but rather tactical awareness, and is a proven success in Clasicos. After his excellent 90 minutes yesterday, he must start this game IMO if we want to give VDV, Guti, etc. the freedom to attack.

- Granero can't start this game. He is too timid and shy on the ball recently, despite his accurate passing and link-up play. We can get all that from VDV but also get the work ethic as well.

Therefore, my lineup, since we all know Kaka will be starting no matter what:

Casillas
Ramos - Albiol - Garay - Arbeloa
Xabi - Big Mama - VDV
Kaka
Higuain - Cristiano

Guti, Benzema, and Marcelo the substitutions. Guti for the creativity against a tired team, Benzema for the attack if needed, and Marcelo to use his speed and dribbling down the flanks late in the game. The Brazilian's entrance would also allow us to drop to a 4-4-2, doubling up the flanks if required as well.

Just my opinion.

^^^
1 problem I have with Ramos is that he will attack alot and leave free space at the back if he plays DR.
thats why for this game him and arbeloa on the center/left would do well since messi will be on that side. and Marcelo should be a mid left, this will make sure them three will not give messi space to work.
thats just my 2 cents

Mahamadou covers the backline very well, in my opinion, especially when a fullback is up the field. We need to have a disciplined midfield to win this match. M.Diarra's brain and positioning are brilliant, which grants the attacking players more freedom to do their business. Let's hope Pellegrini trusts in him this weekend.

Hala Madrid!

Arbeloa did very well last time out against Messi and im sure he can do the job again. I have absolutely no expectations for this game, a win will do just fine though ;) It would make our job alot easier if Puyol and Pique really are doubts for this game as they would have to play calamity Marquez in the back but im guessing its just one of those customary mindgames that teams play before big games.

I don't buy it, but if it's true then that would be great to see Puyol not participate in this match. I don't want to se again this man being more then half responsoble for our....not victory. I don't fear Pique. If he's gonna play, ok he's gonna play...if not, even better, where I can not put that ok and Carles in the same sentence. We'll see, but I think both are going to be ready and not just them, we can also expect Abidal, Iniesta and Ibra on the pitch. They will come with their best, unless something ugly happens tomorow evening. My dream would be to see Marquez and Chyrginsky or what ever his name is, in heart of their defense, but oh well it will just stay like a dream. :drunk:

In terms of our team....one player I'm realy looking forward to see in this match is....Mahamadou Diarra. :proud: I mean there's a very litle chances that he will get outplayed from any of their players on the pitch. He simply do not alows that. Next to him will be Xabi maestro Alonso and then I realy don't know who should play infront of them and behind of those two upfront. Honestly, I will be happy with any of Guti, Vaart, Marcelo or even Kaka out there, just along there won't be Granero. Let him find his form against Xerez and co, not in the biggest match of the year.

May the better team win.....yeah right who am kidding....I would be more then happy even with fluke goal in 96min., as long as three points stay at the Bernabeu. :D
