We need to bounce back quickly from the disappointing loss at Villarreal and hosting struggling Levante at the Bernabeu gives us a good opportunity to do this. Out of the few players currently sidelined by injury, Guti has the best chance to make the squad for this match. Indeed, he has been training with normality this week and is expected to return to the side. I expect Capello to bring him into the first-team at the expense of either Robinho, Reyes or Higuain.

Levante are the oldest side from Valencia (established 1909), although Los Che are the main team of the city due to their success. They were promoted to La Liga this season but lack the resources to cement their place in the top flight, which has the club working on one of the lowest budges in La Liga. They have the second-worst defensive record in the league (30 goals conceded), second only to bottom of the table Gimnastic (39 conceded).

Just the kind of team to beat Real Madrid, then.

Probable line-up;

----------------Casillas--------------
-S.Ramos-Cannavaro-Helguera-M.Torres
------------Diarra---Gago--------
-----------------Guti-------------
------Robinho-------------Reyes
-------------v.Nistelrooy---------

I don't think capello will even think twice before he bench robinho.
The guy either need a break or a bj, but he for sure needs something...

I am actually excited about Guti coming back, because he will force us to play 4-3-3. So FINALLY Reyes and Robinho will be in their best positions, oh hang on, this won't happen because they will probably get benched. :howler: :wallbang:

I don't know if Raul will be available for this match, it might come too soon for him.

Still, if he does recover I hope he can find the goals that will help us win the title. Unlikely I know, but I am just praying that sooner or later he will just wake up one day and return to the Raul we all knew.

HALA CAPITAN. :proud:

lol Mo... I don't know what to say man.

You've repeatedly said how poor Raul and Guti are, and here you are glad they're coming back. :pp

I love it! :D

Looooooooooooool.

Slow down, I said I don't mind Guti coming back because of the formation and Ruud's lack of goals.

And as for Raul, where did I say I want him to start? When I said I hope he comes back to his best, it was in clear reference to the reality that he will start no matter what under Capello. So since he's going to play, might as well pray for him. :)

---------Casillas---------
---Cannavaro--Helguera-- (Mejia)
-Ramos------------Carlos- (Torres, Marcelo)
----------Diarra---------- (Emerson)
------Gago----Guti------- (de la Red when Guti's hurt every 2nd game)
--Reyes----------Robinho- (Raul for either when they suck)
---------Higuain---------- (RvN if El Pipita struggles to score as a 9)

People keep saying Higuain can't play as a lone striker.

Why not?

He has strength, pace, dribbling ability, and a good hard shot. With the service he'd get from Reyes, Robinho, Guti, and Gago, I think he could score his fair share of goals.

We can't say he's unable to play there until we try it. In that sense, it's good to have a player like RvN in case he struggles.

Yep, people also said Henry would not be able to be successfully converted from winger to CF, and it worked to perfection.

I am all for giving Higuain a shot at CF, I just don't see Capello admitting failure with one of his new signings though.

Has anyone ever noticed the ridiculous amount of time offered to his signings to perform? Emerson, Cannavaro, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Diarra....all these players were in extended periods of poor form yet they never experienced bench time without an injury or, in Diarra's case, disciplinary measure.

Compare that to Robinho, Cassano, Beckham or Reyes who see the bench as soon as they have a bad game (except when we don't have alternatives, like at the moment).

Capello is a stubborn, sly son of a gun. :)

the line-up doesnt look too bad, but as usual there are many uncertainties like the form of Guti, the still unsatisfying performances of Robinho etc. etc..

Hope we will manage to score more than 1 goal at home.

But both (Reyes and Robinho) suck very often... and Raul too. :D

Seriously, Madrid will take the 3 points. You'll trash Levante, 5-0, with 4 goals by Van Nistelrooy. :D

I heard Robinho and Reyes had talks with Mijatovic & Capello about their attitude. Reyes was ask how its possible hes so unmotivated, with being on loan and intentionally want to stay. Mijatovic thinks very highly of Robinho saying he'll be one of the best in 2 years, but now hes stagnant in his form.

Robinho lacks a playmaker at his side to perform better. he has the speed and the skills to beat opponents 1 on 1, but to be fair he was awful in that in the previous games. hee needs to improve and stabilize on a high level quickly as any coach in the world would loose faith in a player that does not perform.

then, i'd like to see this:

----------iker
ramos-canna-ivan-torres
---------diarra
------gago---guti
---robi--------higuain
---------ruud

Higuain more partnering Ruud in attack and Robinho rooming around in the mid and the right flank.
