If Toni cannot due the mercato lists then perhaps we should just close the league down. I think its a miracle that he's done it for this long for us.

Also, I don't see saviola and naervod returning either so we're down to 9 teams, 10 if my co-worker joins. Then we need 2 additional teams as 10 is too small.

 

I can do the lists. I simply do not participate because I lack the enthusiasm which is needed, or at least I need. Shame as I had Quagliarella.

I am thinking of a new way to revamp the game if it helps you get more interested. I am thinking we should do our 6 keepers as always for THIS SUMMER ONLY, but at the end of the 2011/12 season, players will be rewarded "cash rewards" for winning trophies, qualifying for Europe, etc and be deducted points for being "relegated". Cash/credits will be carried over. And 1-3 year contracts will be used for players.

Because I don't want just anyone to come around and say yes. I'd like for the new players to be serious Serie A fans or long time posters of XT. Rossonero3 is a co-worker and new friend of mine who is a very passionate Milanista. I have no doubts of his interest to the game.

I rather we have our league members recruit those that we're confident will be passionate and good participants to the league. Unlike the year we took the likes of AI Melo, etc....just to have more players in the game.

 

Well, if it is needed I can participate nevertheless, as giving a lineup is not much of an effort. , but honestly I'm a bit bored.
For me new = fun. The one thing I keep the way it is forever is my wife.

 

AI Melo was actually a passionate, maybe a bit too much indeed.
IMO the worst member of this league was Juventus2, who left after one week or so.

 

Well indeed he was :howler:. My point was no one could "vouch" for AI Melo or Juventus2 and we let them into the game cause we needed players. Both were epic fails.

We need new players that we're all comfortable with whether on XT or real life. Hopefully naervod and saviola return....they were both very good participants until the second half of the past season.

 

I'll ask in the Parma forum. A lot of the guys in there post regularly and are a great bunch.

 

We need an Inter fan, its strange they have been avoiding the game since it started.

 

How are things being done this year then? I think that's pretty important.

 

This summer will be the same as always. Keep 6 players restricted by position. However, we implement an awards system for trophies, European qualification, and even give penalties for being "relegated". In the case, rather than a team just not following the second half of the season or trading away good players for a bag of peanuts because they are in last place or bored....perhaps that player will feel motivated to try and not finish in the bottom 2 so they don't get deducted points for the mercato.

Also, this will be the last summer of silent bidding. After the season, you will be able to keep as many players as you wish via a contract system. There will be 1-3 year contracts, but after the contract ends, the player automatically enters the free agent pool for auction. I want to develop a system where the credits are meaningful. There is alot to be worked out, but if we do it this way, we'll have plenty of time to develop the system over the course of this season and be ready for next spring. If we try an overhaul now, its too chaotic as not all members are around, we don't know if we have enough people, and some issues might need tweaking.

 

I think you are making the right decisions so I confirm my participation again. I will even score one game a week permanently from the new season to spread the load.

It would be nice if we can get more active participants though. At times we was playing with about six interested players last season.

 

i dont think im playing next year too. Wont have as much time to devote toe mercato will probably be travelling a lot and if i cant devote a lot of time and have a good mercato there is no point of playing.

I sort of lost interest half way through last season anyway.

I am auto confirm by default, you mofos should know that Good that Toni is staying, he was one of most active and did well despite having a gimped team. Too bad about saviola, naervod and acm4eva, but bit expected.


We can ask few regular serie a section posters and peak their interest. I think we did it last time.

With ACMF out and naervod and saviola likely to not return, we seem to have our replacements with Johan, Parma Talent, and rossonero3. I say, out of respect, we give saviola and naervod until August 1 and see if they return. We can start using this thread to discuss our ideas for the new system to be implemented.

I have been traveling and therefore not able to follow.
Now i see the 6 keepers and the changes for the season after, i confirm my participation. I probably would have left if the system remained the same (so your doubts were very understandable)
Good that there are some changes in the pipeline.

PS. any chance of implementing the rule if a player goes to Barcelona that the owner gets 100 credits just for spotting the talent? :cap:

I am going to be away until Saturday 6th August and I don't know what kind of internet connection I'll have on my travels. Hopefully you won't have the first round of bidding this week!!

What's the opinion then guys? Are we playing this yr?

 

If making the list is problem, we could just send all our lists as per usual but without the players having a set value to start with. Every player has a starting value of 0 and we all make our lists as per usual and whoever has bid the most wins the player.

 

I have the lists of the players with the costs. What I need to know is the decision on the position of the single players and the possible formations.
