La Liga - Jornada 16
Sunday, December 19th, 2010 - 21:00 CET
Real Madrid vs. Sevilla
Estadio Santiago Bernabeu - Madrid, Spain

Big game if we want to stay on Barca's heels.

Sevilla are struggling but it's always an interesting game with these guys. They choked last weekend at home, conceding three to Almeria, and really look like a shadow of their recent selves.

We should get all 3 points in front of the home crowd.

HALA MADRID!

Jose has a headache for squad selection. The following players are out:

Higuain (injured)
Kaka (injured)
Canales (injured)
Xabi Alonso (suspended)
Gago (injured)
Ramos (injured)
Marcelo (suspended)
Dudek (injured)

I'd go:

Casillas
Lass - Pepe - Carvalho - Arbeloa
Khedira - Granero
Di Maria - Ozil - Cristiano
Benzema

We could go with Lass in midfield where he's been excellent recently, and Raul Albiol at RB, but we're at home and should be looking to attack. Granero has played well when called upon and would of course be preferred ahead of Mahamadou after the incident at Camp Nou whether the player didn't want to go on the field.

Benzema MUST produce here.

They had the video showing the exchange on the bench. Karanka told him to warm up, he refused, Karanka told Mourinho, Jose turned around and blasted Mahamadou on the bench.

Sorry, maybe not blasted, but he obviously said something back to him and wasn't pleased.

I honestly doubt that was the way it went down. They could've been talking about something else. You think Mourinho would tolerate not only Diarra refusing, but Diarra refusing like THAT?! I don't think so.

If it had been the case Diarra wouldn't have played a minute since.. let alone start and captain the game against Auxerre

Are you kidding? That 9 second clip could be about any number of things; there is no context. I agree with Madridi19. Mourinho has shown plenty of faith in Mahamadou since that 'incident'. Moutain meet molehill...

I would really like to see M.Diarra start ahead of Khedira. I think he deserves it, frankly.

Hope to see a canterano get a few minutes.

Mountain meet molehill? How am I making this out to be a big deal?

I was discussing a potential starting XI and said I don't think Momo will start after what happened at Camp Nou. I haven't gone on and on about it, I was asked to post a video and I did.

The Spanish papers were going on about it, so how exactly am I making a mountain of a molehill? Good grief. :rollani:

How does he deserve it?

I apologize Joshua, I actually was not directing that at you. It was towards the media, like you mentioned.

/EDIT:

Just read this:
Marca.com said:
And this:
Marca.com said:
El germano (Khedira) regresará al once titular frente al Sevilla y busca acompañante en la medular por la baja por sanción de Xabi Alonso.
Seems somewhat unlikely that Diarra will get the nod, but I can still hope.

And Joshua, I want him to start because I prefer what he brings to our play over Khedira. And I think he has played very well when given minutes. Give Khedira some more time to come back from the little injury and let Mahamadou enjoy some minutes.

just watched dortmund vs sevilla.

Sevilla are the scummiest club in world football, just disgusting. the amount of injury faking exceeds the highest levels of cringe. seriously, the absolute worst. everyone dives and wastes time, but the way they go about it is just disgusting.

Kanoute got an injury and had to go off, lets hope he recovers by tuesday...

Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul Albiol, and Mahamadou Diarra returned to training today. Cristiano missed yesterday due to a slight muscle strain but is back ready for this weekend, while Albiol and Diarra played in the Match Against Poverty earlier this week.

Canteranos who trained with the first team today are Joselu, Sarabia, Juanfran, and goalkeeper Pacheco. No Morata.

All of Higuain, Canales, Kaka, Gago, Ramos, and Dudek trained indoors recovering from their injuries.

Ramos made it to the squad list.

Jose Mourinho has inlcuded 20 men on his squad list for tomorrow's 21:00 CET match against Sevilla at the Bernabeu. Ramos and Khedira (who missed the last game due to an injury and a suspension, respectively) have made the cut again. Youth teamers Morata, Juanfran and Pacheco are also on the list. Marcelo and Xabi Alonso are suspended for the match. The injured Kaka, Gago, Higuain, Canales and Dudek will also miss the clash. Mateos has been left out for coaching decisions.

Marca say Ramos will be starting.

Casillas
Ramos - Pepe - Carvalho - Arbeloa
Lass - Khedira
Di Maria - Ozil - Cristiano
Benzema

Looks much better than with Albiol or Lass at RB, but of course remains to be seen what state of mind Sergio wakes up with tomorrow.
