Mo am sory but i would have to say I would like Ronaldo over Benzema. The truth is I don't watch Benzema often but I know Ronaldo is a natural leader on the pitch and that is what we are missing atm. But am open for a disscusion couse maybe Benzema is the same...

You'll only sign Benzema the day Calderon is out of this club, he's not good/strong/smart enough to deliver a top deal, his limits are some Dutch players..

So are you going to gun for both of them this summer, only one of them, each in different summer or what ? This news about the agreement with ManU kind of threw a surprise in to the mix as i dont see you financially capable of getting 2 cracks in the summer with each of them costing about 50M€ and also bolstering your side with other players when you have spent big in the winter market. You will get a hefty sum from selling players but not enough to balance things out.

Or is this some negotiation tactics to show both Lyon and ManU that there are other choices in the market and you are trying to lower the price of one of the players.

Before this news it was kind of getting sure that Benzema is heading to Madrid but now its a bit messed up again.

Or is this another Calderon/Miljatovic BS, where they go for everybody Big available in the market as they have done this far and hope they´ll get someone ?

Many reasons, he knew he has tarnished his reputation and abvioulsy wants to reach teh top again. Why take a 'risk' and choose a place with familiarity with lots of your palls. Besides perhaps he wasn't convinced by their project even if the money was good. You can't have Dinho along side Sturrigde, Hamann, etc.

You can't make a case for every player choosing prestige over money but you can quite comfortably say with the modern game, the majority of them would choose money. There are exceptions ofcours, why would Kaka flirt with Prem clubs all the time while at already a big self proclaimed 'family' club??

Benzema could easily choose Man C over Real, but perhaps if they money is equally close and he always dreamt of playing for a 'traditional' big club in a league like Spain, he would easily choose Real, Barca or Man U over Citeh.

 

Benzema is a legend in the making.
Any club who gets this player now will be blessed.
He is already a killer in front of goal and will only get better; He is just 20.

 

Prestige is more important to the players. Money to the clubs of course. A club would probably rather sell a player to bidder A for 70m than to a bidder B for 60m. But a player would rather go to bidder B for 6m/year with higher prestige than to bidder A for 8m/year. And then throw in his dream to play for a certain club, with certain teammates in a certain league and it gets even easier.

At least I like to think that way.

 

Madrid for example is a totally different experience than friggin Manchester. I do believe as well that players would go to the biggest club with the better circumstances.
