Fc Barcelona vs Real Madrid

this game is very important for both teams...barca enter this game after the game against liverpool, and real madrid are in rest after they qualify to the quater final...and about the league...this game will change all the satnding, coz if barca win it will be difficult for real and if real win they will have a big chance in wining the league...
i predict a win for barca 3-1

Too early?;)

I remember the november game thread was like opened 3 weeks before, and constant hype about what would happen:star:

I don't see this as being too early, especially since we only have the friendly game against SPArta to look forward to:embarass: The main players are already focused on the real task at hand...

beating the Puta's in their own bordello, for the first time sine 1984:eek:
It's time we put an end to legal prostitution, don't you guys think?:D:howler:

Nah,it aint't too early.:)

I juust have a feeling we'll win.I think the Copa loss could have been the best thing to have happened to us as far as our performance in the other competitions goes.A timely reminder that we're not invincible and that we have to play to win.

Barca have this game sandwiched between two big Champions League games, and that can't be bad.:D Barca's season is gonna hinge on the next 10 days.If they lose to us,they can kiss La Liga goodbye, and if they're knocked out of the ULC as well, they will probably kiss Rexach goodbye as well.

As far as Real go,well, the good thing is that even if we lose against Barca,we will still be in the hunt for the league I reckon, because we will be a maximum of 5 points behind. But it'll become tough,so it's a huge game for us as well in terms of our chances of success this season.

Ofcourse, the importance of the rivalry goes without saying.:D:D

Vamps,I don't remember what you're talking about.:embarass:

Shayan,

I think if Barca beat Liverpool, they are almost gaurenteed a QF spot.

The good thing is our schedule is a little lighter after Barca untill the very last game against Depor again, so we will have a chance to pull wins if we play to our best.

how can you not rememeber? you made 3 seperate threads, pre, during and post match threads, plus posting alot of historical facts and stuff.

After losing to Betis, I think Barca has one of the worst head-to-head record (with the top teams) among the title challengers. They should be quite uptight by now, which should see them fire up a bit on midweek. A win against Liverpool should see them slightly relaxed and give us that bit of more problem.

With so many uncertain factors in their camp (Rivaldo, playing form, etc) even 7 days is too long to predict a result! :D  ;)

I would actually like us to field an almost entire B team against Sparta (see UCL thread against Sparta) and sub our starters on just to warm up a bit for the weekend gala!! This way we would balance out rest and match practice out nicely..

oh,now i remember.

and I think Liverpool will get a draw at Camp Nou.And then, away to Galatasaray,Barca have no chance,IMO>

I second Cliff's suggestion to start none of our regulars against Spara, except for Casillas, and I want Figo to come on in the second half for about 30 minutes maybe,or even less.

I voted draw!

recent history has shown the each season it's a win and a draw for either team.

I think going to the bordello called the Nou Camp, as Labasito so eloquently refers will be a daunting task. If therwill be any year that we can will be this year. However, Im not optimistic and a draw will be enough for me.

Barca, seem to have chemistry problems the last couple of years and have been their own worst enemy. They also seem t o be too focused on what Real Maadrid is doing that they lose focus of their own ambition. All that being said Barca seems to come together as a squad and play us tight. Since they are still in a dog fight in the ECL they can not take a need rest and 2 big games in a week maybe too much to overcome. They could easily be thrown into crissis if they lose both games and thus end their season. They have soo much on the line in relationship to us.

I think we will be well rested and can focus all week on this game which gives us a big advantage which will be off set by playing at the Bordello.

This is why I think a draw is most lilely in the cards.

but u don't know that barca

forget all matches in the past, so every match is a new match for barca, and when we beat u in 8-JAN-1994 5-0 is a prove for that..rm was the purpose for barca get out from the cup, when rm win over barca in berbabue3-1 and a draw in the nou camp,...but barca beat rm 5-0..so none can deny that barca can win this match in a big score...

Barca hampered by new Rivaldo setback

Sunday 10th March 2002

Barcelona forward Rivaldo is set to miss the Champions' League clash against Liverpool on Wednesday after aggravating a muscle injury in his left thigh during the 2-1 defeat at Real Betis. He missed training on Sunday.

Nou Camp coach Charly Rexach may want his prize asset to have a few days complete rest before the crunch visit of arch-rivals Real Madrid next Saturday.

Rivaldo explained last week that he has been forcing himself to play even though he has only been 70 or 80 per cent fit. "I have done that for myself and for the club," he explained.

"I have played matches with medical help but it seems people don't value those kind of efforts for Barcelona. I don't know what else I can do."

Speaking at a press conference for the first time in two months, Rivaldo went on to reveal that the fans' feelings towards him may force him to refuse to extend his contract. "Their attitude makes me think twice about re-signing. Let's wait and see what the future brings."

Patrick Kluivert also missed training, but a club spokesman said that that was a precautionary measure and the Holland striker would be ready to play against Liverpool.

It made sense enough to me. These games hardly ever reflect how the teams have been doing the weeks before. Instead, they tend to be sudden inflection points for both of them. This year's Madrid - Barcelona was what caused Madrid to take off and become the "galactic" team that it was for quite a while, and in past years Barcelona has used the match to come out of a losing streak and start winning like mad.

Totally unpredictable, and very exciting.

rats :irritate:

I was really counting on Sevilla snatching some points off Valencia. Now its more important for us to find a way to win this :nervous:

Shayan,

I think Rivaldo will be fit by next week.

One thing my short career as a football analytic has taught me - derby games do go by their own rules.

It's such a clichee, isn't it? Everyone repeats it, but when you think about it, 90% of the people, say "yeah, yeah, but the winner shall be" and here you insert either the team on form or the team you support;)

I haven't exactly encountered a whole bucketload of these derby encounters with the *itch, but each year the results have taught me just that lesson.

Current form will have little to do with what happens next saturday. Is this good, i don't know.

vamp, i'm also disappointed about Sevilla. they held out strong for a while there... too bad it ended that way:( Valencia are starting to really put pressure, serious pressure on the other contendors. Thankfully they drive away next week too... a glimour of hope?

Rivaldo and his injury may be a part of the pre=match antics already? Although this game v liverpool seems soooo important, one must realize the chances of Barca not making the next round are rather vague... a win practically ensures that:eek: But it does mean they have to be good midweek... real good. It shall hamper their performance on saturday without a doubt.
This is one factor I wouldn't neglect. The only factor I wouldn't neglect. The others are just "factors":)

I can see this ending in a draw... but as ever I have that lingering hope of a win. I've never had that feeling in the Camp Nou... fortunately i've never seen the puta's embarass us in our stadium either.
Is it time the bordello falls?;):D

i did it, althought rm doesn't win at camp nou in league marches since long time ago, i never be optimist about this game, for me is not important if barça is playing worst or beter is 9 points above or 9 points behind is a derby and i forget all this things i expect everything a win a draw even a lose.

Thats only coz Kluivert makes sure that all the putas are locked away in his hotel room.

These games dont go to form otherwise we would be miles ahead in the head to head count. Im going for a 2-1 win to us coz its been too long since we won in their backyard.

For those of you who havent seen this, here are the head to head stats (although 4 games are missing):

http://www.rsssf.com/tables/barcamadrid.html

Dont let the stats fool you coz we lead it not them, dont count the friendlies, noone else does.

Jose,

You forgot the head-to-head statistics that really matter:

Ligas: 28 vs. 16
CLs: 8 vs. 1

y_KR said:
coz u have a very weak defenders" hierro and pavom"
Yes we might have weak defenders generally but NOT when it comes to comparing with Barcas defence...

I think for the first time we can go to Nou Camp and expect some points. We proved it away to Celta and i think we can do it again, last year Figo fired up their motivation and they also got that lucky goal which put them in the lead. As it seems right now Figo wont play and the team will just go up there and get the job done as professional as possible.

Usually at these derbies i say "bring out your hearts" but this time i dont think its the correct method. We got the better TEAM and FORM this year and if we stay out of Barcas odd add unstable style of play we are going to be alright.

We shouldnt fear any player more then another, i know sooo many talked about how "Saviola would rip us apart" but what did that little :crybaby: do at the Bernabeu? Absolutely nothing...And Kluivert sure has his moments but Hierro loves playing against him so iam not worried. Also, just say the word and Makelele will make Rivaldo look like the useless ballhogging loser he is 80% of the time (the other 20% he is the worlds best player ;) ).

Oh well i hope this will do for a little prematch and i hope it will be a intense weekend, remember that the rules around here still apply but that i'm a guy who likes a little action ;)

HALA MADRID!

Che iam not sure about sacrificing Morientes for Solari, but at the same time iam wuite sure about letting Santiago play...Problem is that you can never tell if Mori is cold and he can just pop up and score a hat-trick after some scoreless games....He has a good record vs Barca as well.....

Decisions decisions :undecide:

#25 ·
I think its good if Figo plays, but Solari is on form nowdays and he should be on fire against barca if figo is not available..... here is the team i wanna see against barca........

-------------------Casillas-------------------

Salgado---Hierro-----Pavon----R.Carlos

-------------Helguera--Makelele-----------

Solari/Figo-------Zidane-----------Raul---

------------------Morientes------------------

Can Solari play on the right?? if not, then i dunno......
