Materazzi is a clown but i was reading something else from him which was along the lines of "Hiddink cant always have luck on his side".He makes a good point although i hope im wrong.People act as if Hiddink can get any team he's given and turn them into worldbeaters, but were a good side aswell as a well managed one, i hope this Aussie WC story continues.

Italy haven't been that impressive but they rarely are. They get results and are good at it.

I think it will be a tight game which will be decided by a goal or even penalties.

Interesting to see who replaces Emerton, but in the words of Rale Rasic:

Da genius vil no vot to do and vil pik tektiks to perfekshon..

latest stuff history commercial.

Maybe it should be Zlatko Kranjcar in that commercial

What are you doing getting past the first round? It's a mistake, we are Croatia! You are 44 in the world, Bulgaria is better than you!

Having Italian heritage in my family, I have the strongest desire for Australia to beat Italy - take no prisoners.

I do accept the clear fact that if Italy score FIRST at any stage of the game then Australia will be in big trouble and will most likely lose.
Japan, Croatia and Brazil does not have the defense of the Italians.

I also accept that the Italians will be "looking" for free kicks that are in scoring range - either that the Australians will be stupid enough to give away or "conned" by the Italian player.

No matter at what stage of the game, Australia could have 2-4 chances of scoring a goal - NO MORE, if we cannot score from those chances then bad luck - we won't be given any more from the Italian defense.

If the game goes to penalties - Italy as usual will chock.

Without Nesta the Italian defence is very much weakened. Their left side will be vulnerable with Materazzi having to do alot of work because Grosso will take off on those runs of his.

Darragh i know Argentina looked very good, but at times they struggled with the intensity of the Mexicans, and against the Germans they'll struggle in that regard. Also, from what i've seen, despite Argentina's big names, Germany are far more dangerous going forward, they look like scoring just about everytime they attack.

But Germany have played weaker apponents than Argentina so far.

I know, but it won't make much of a difference, the Germans will be so confident going forward now, and their defence has improved alot. Thanks for bringing up another factor, Argentina will be very tired after that match :).
