OK big game coming up, only a friendly so not that important, but it would be nice to get one over the Brazilians before the Confed. Cup.

My squad would be:

Buffon, Amelia

Zambrotta, Bonera, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Gamberini, Legrottaglie, Grosso, Moretti

De Rossi, Brighi, Pirlo, Aquilani, Montolivo, Maggio

G. Rossi, Cassano, Toni, Gilardino, Amauri? or Iaquinta, Di Natale

We could either see Chiellini & Amauri or Chiellini vs. Amauri... or none. Would be interesting to see that battle though.

This is the ideal line-up. The further we get from the shittier the team will be. Example: drop Cassano, bring in Di Natale and Rossi, drop Aquilani, go to 4-3-3, etc, etc. All things I don't want to see ideally but it's a friendly so we will probably see experimentation with worse players. It's normal

edit: replace injured Chiellini of course

I wouldn't bother with Cassano. I think he is over-rated to say the least. He is a good player - thats all - and the fact that he has psychological problems means I wouldn't call him up.

How about:

--------------------Buffon--------------------

De Ceglie----Legrottaglie----Chiellini----Molinaro

Camoranesi---Marchisio---C. Zanetti---Giovinco

-------Amauri/Iaquinta------Del Piero----------

All Juve XI. At least you know the team will gel together. :)

I was thinking about something like

------------------------Artur--------------------

Campagnaro---Talamonti---Silvestre----Felipe

Camoranesi---Ledesma I---Ledesma II---Forestieri

----------------Amauri--------Jeda----------

there should be an Italian ancestor available for each one and if there is not we find him anyway

Ridiculous, really

Good thing he doesn't have his passport yet because even though Lippi previously said something along the lines of ''We dont need naturalized players'' (when asked if he would call up Ledesma) I am afraid he would be a hypocrite and call up Amauri.........hope I'm wrong though

Still uncalled for to call him an idiot my man, disagree with some of his biased decisions (not a fan of his thing with Baggio either), but bit too strong to judge him an idiot.

Rossi got injured, he is doing very well this season (arguably better then Cassano effectiveness wise), but its weird, but perhaps him missing this game due to the injury (not sure yet, perhaps can make it) gives an opening to Cassano. He shouldnt need to, but it might help.

Brazil have got to start as favourites. Kaka`, Ronaldinho, Pato, Maicon, Alves etc. Brazil is basically the better team to start with and our best players are either injured or out of form.

Juve deny Amauri Brazil debut Saturday 31 January, 2009

Juventus have announced they will block Amauri's debut for the Brazil squad against Juventus because the request came too late.

Carlos Dunga had originally left him out of the side to face Italy on February 10, but added his name after Luis Fabiano pulled out with an injury.

The official paperwork has not yet been received by the Bianconeri, so it would be even later than the deadline.

“The club's decision is that the request is past the deadline, so if it does come in, then we will not release the player,” confirmed President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

“We need to concentrate, now more than ever, on the upcoming Juventus appointments and so we want Amauri to stay with us during this period.

“He will be available for the Coppa Italia and then Ranieri will decide whether to field him.”

There are rumours Amauri was irritated at being second choice and feels Dunga only called him in order to 'tie' the striker to Brazil, therefore destroying any chance of playing for Italy in the future.

“[General manager Jean-Claude] Blanc spoke with Amauri and explained our position. The player understood and accepted without asking for us to change our minds,” continued Cobolli Gigli.

“I wish to point out that the player had nothing to do with making the decision, it was entirely down to Juventus.”

The Bianconeri's Scudetto hopes are fast evaporating after two straight defeats in three days against Udinese and Cagliari.

“I think these six points we have dropped this week are very important, but seeing what occurred in previous seasons, anything can still happen.

“We have to maintain our grit and belief, then wait and see what happens. Obviously we're not in the same position we were a week ago.

“We were not competitive against Udinese, but with Cagliari we were more impressive and conceded two counter-attacks that changed the game. I saw definite improvements in the performance, if not the result.”

President Cobolli Gigli also confirmed that Zenit St Petersburg have made an official bid for Vincenzo Iaquinta.

“Zenit's offer for Iaquinta did arrive, but we did not take it into consideration.”

This Amauri affair has more twists than a Brazilian soap opera. :D

What? The call up came too late? Can they do that? I mean, Lippi didn't even name his call ups yet so I guess who ever he calls up the call ups will/can be too late too

Wow, retarded really..............
Players who work in another continent must be called up something like 15 days before the matchday. The call-up that had Luis Fabiano's name on it had been made in time, but Amauri's call-up came after the deadline - and the Brasilian manager should KNOW all this. :groan:

Juventus isn't obligated to letting players who were called after the deadline participate in the game. When I saw Amauri's call-up, I actually figured that Dunga had gotten Juventus' approval before making the call. I obviously overestimated Dunga.
