We never play well in friendly...i think we will lose however i would like to see the good performance of new players such as Coco from friendly & Eng that he was brilliant.

This is annoying as hell. I don't wanna see teh French unless its a serious match cos for me when France and Italy take the field its nothing to do with smiles. I am sure guys liek Nesta Cannavaro and Totti agree with me. No smiles all anger.

Anyway.....I agree Argentina should win accoriding to history. Cos that will help us. Anyway to win is also nice and i like teh way teh FIFA rankings are looking. There are only 3 teams in teh world who can live with Italy on teh field and those are France Brazil and Argentina. TAZZ that's a fair lineup but I'd prefer a younger, more experimental side myself. I know most people will probably wanna see a great clash between these two teams with their full and proper lineups but friendlies involving us are always crap. Plus I don't think Argentina is sending their 1st team.
I'm not sure if Commandini is fit but I'd love to see him play. Ventola would be good to see upfront also, he needs to redeem himself after his disgraceful Olympics performance.
Would also be great to see players like Pirlo, Baronio, Vanucchi, Ferrari, Abbiati and maybe even Donati get a run.
You trying to kid yourself TAZZ? Del Piero already has a guaranteed position in the side and probably always will. The 2 goals against Georgia made it concrete I think.
He WILL be playing in this game and WILL be there at WC2002, I'd bet anything on it!

I don't think DP will play, while Pippo most definately will. I agree that he's not the BEST striker (or among the BEST stirkers), but he's curretly the most effective and has done well for Italy since EURO.

Vannuchi... He's playing in SERIE B!!!! He will certainly grow to be a likely NT feature at some point, but honestly....

How much did Montella play this season ?
I agree on playing Vieri (at least for one half) because he's so awesome when he's in real good shape, and he needs to get back in the team. What has he done this season though ?

Only really obvious players : Nesta, Canna, Maldini, Totti, Fiore.
Apart from that I'm undecided, although Tommasi might have earned himself a spot due to his impressive season. It could also be Giannichedda partnering Fiore like with Udinese or SURPRISE Tacchinardi . Allow me at least one quip in favor of my Juventus . I see no reason playing Albertini or Di Biagio. They're both "competent" but they're running the tight rope and Ambrosini should be infront of both of them as should the afore mentioned players.
Right midfield is a fight between Zambrotta, Damiano Zenoni and Gennaro Gattuso in my book. Note that I'm excluding Conte due to the same reasons as Di Biagio and Albertini.
Left midfield: Coco has played well with the NT- very inconsistent with Milan. Zauri has been the bomb at Atalanta. Hard to find anyone else I think as Pessotto shouldn't play anything but wing back in a 4 man defence.
Italy aren't really gifted with that many left sided wing players.

Forwards: I believe Pippo will be first choice actually, while Vieri, Chiesa, Delvecchio, Del Piero, and Montella are behind him.

Buffon has been better than Toldo so far this season.

That's a fair lineup Glen but I am sure Del Piero will play, atleast a half for sure. This guys place in the NT is more sure than anyone else, even Maldini.
But still I wanna see the younger players get a good run, I don't care about honouring Argentina, they should honour us .
Maybe even an appearance by good old Robi Baggio wouldn't be bad .

 

No doubt it should be more young player. But not bad if DP plays & scores a hattrick, hehehehe.

Ambrosini has been overlooked for Gattuso by Trap alot, and I think he has been the best defensive midfielder in Italy so far considering he's already 4 goals in all comps as well.

 

This is so painful for me Ambrosini is out fo rthe rest of the season. I love this guerrero. Superb fighter neve rgives up. I was so sad when i saw how he went down cos i knoew he was gonna beout for months the way helanded. Just liek Ruud Van Nistlerooij. COming stright down froma jump and the knee jsut slides out of position..... Painful to say teh least.

Anyway I just want the rankings to be honest This is teh first time they have been honest for years cos ONly Brazil Argentina and France have alegitimante claim to being better than us.

As for thsi freindly.....well i gues the bestthing is to lose but i never compain when i win.....I was born to win.

C'mon Totti.....its time to start making your name outside Italy like Nesta. A big prestige freindly like this is just the thing for him.
