Magath expects Euro classic

Bayern Munich boss Felix Magath is eagerly awaiting tonight’s Inter clash. “It’s going to be magic,” he said.

Although both sides have already progressed to the last 16 of the competition, the German tactician insists the game is a must see for fans.

The Germans lead Group B with 11 points and need just a point to secure top spot, which would guarantee a home tie in the second leg – an advantage that the Nerazzurri are also keen on.

“We are still under a lot of pressure because we are determined to top the group to help our chances in the next round,” said Magath.

Bayern beat Inter 2-0 at the San Siro in their previous group game, but the tactician highly rates the Nerazzurri.

“I agree with [Chelsea boss] José Mourinho’s statement that Inter are one of the tournament favourites,” he continued.

“Players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hernan Crespo can turn games in an instant. Bayern against Inter – this is one of those magical nights of football,” he concluded.

The match will kick-off at the Fussball Arena in Munich at 20:45 local time and will be officiated by Spanish referee Luis Medina Cantalejo, who was the fourth official in Berlin’s World Cup Final.

Bayern (probable): Kahn; Sagnol, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lahm; Van Bommel, Demichelis, Schweinsteiger, Salihamidzic; Makaay, Pizarro

Inter (probable): Julio Cesar; Maicon, Materazzi, Burdisso, Grosso; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Vieira, Stankovic; Ibrahimovic, Crespo

Did someone forgot to mention to him, this is one of the most unimportant games any of these teams will play as of late?
