ZAMBROTTA - CONCEICAO

DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA have rekindled their interest in Sergio Conceicao, and the player has admitted that this time around he will consider the move to La Liga.
The Portuguese winger has found his playing time limited at Inter, although he is currently back in the starting line-up.
It appears that Inter are closing in on Gianluca Zambrotta - and the Juve man would be a direct replacement for the Portuguese flanker.
Depor first moved for Conceicao when he was playing for Parma, but could not agree personal terms for the player.
However, the Spanish side are desperate to land the former Porto man, and he is flattered by their persistence.

"I have heard many things about this but nobody at Inter has confirmed the interest," said Conceicao.

"I have not asked either - because it is up to the club to announce anything.

"If Zambrotta arrives then he would be first choice and no longer me.

"Nothing would surprise me anymore. But it is necessary to hope.

"I am not worried however, because I know many of the Depor side.

"They are not doing as well this season but they have kept many of last year's players and the coach .

"A team cannot change that much from one season to the next - I'm sure they are going through a bad spell and will recover."

Danish international winger Peter Lovenkrands said Wednesday he would reject offers from Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus to stay with Scottish Premiership leaders Rangers.
The 21-year-old claimed he would like to end speculation over his future as quickly as possible by signing a long term contract with Rangers.
"There is nothing I want more than to stay at Rangers," Lovenkrands told Rangers News.
"I'd like to sign a long-term contract here and I'm sure we can agree one very quickly.
"In fact, if things go as I expect them to, I wouldn't mind staying here for the rest of my career."
Lovenkrands, who became a Rangers folk hero with two goals in the 3-2 Scottish Cup final win over bitter rivals Celtic last season, has attracted attention from Inter before but he insisted he would not be going anywhere.
"Obviously, I'm flattered that other teams are interested in me.
"Big clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus have been mentioned but, if sides like that are keen, I must be doing something right.
"I'm flattered but I'm not leaving because I don't want to go anywhere else.
"Moving on is not even in my mind and, if things go to plan, then I would have no problem staying at Rangers for life."

Decided Moratti maximum to realize its dream. To dress Gerrard of nerazzurro. Difficult to tear it to the Liverpool, but the president of the Inter not demorde. The next week, Oriali will be in England. It will have way to enter in contact with the Reds in order to open a passage and to begin one negotiation on the base of 25 million euro.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Important innovation for Jorgensen. The Aston Villa has given sent to an intermediary to contact the Udinese for the purchase of the national Danish. Vanished or nearly the possibility to transfer it to the Inter, for Jorgensen still the track is opened that door to Schalke 04, but also the Germans in the last weeks have loosened the taken one. For this, if the Villans will introduce a concrete offer, Jorgensen will take the way that door in England.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Claude Makelele goes away from the Real Madrid. The French centrocampista does not find an understanding point with the Merengues for the adaptation of the contract, whose I engage does not exceed the million and half of euro. It of would want nearly the double quantity. Florentino Perez and Valdano makes orecchie from merchant and the possibility that to june lasci Spain is real. Italians to the window. Makelele appeals to to Juventus, Inter and Rome very.

DIEGO ??

are u ppl talking about this player : DIEGO !

The status of Santos starlet Diego is in doubt for the club's Wednesday clash with Bahia.

The forward is suffering from a bruised right foot, and manager Emerson Leao is reluctant to start his boy-wonder against lower-tier Bahia.

Santos are in fifth place in the standings, but they have no games to give so every one of their remaining matches is of the utmost importance.

Diego is a playmaker,he is the hottest player in Brasil. He also said he prefers to play in Italy. Here is an article about him from last year.

Brazil's Ribas has the drive to be a star

Far from home but with his heart set on living out his life's ambition, Brazilian under-17 national team star Diego Ribas says that he misses his parents and sisters, but will do what it takes to achieve his dream: to play for a foreign club and make his fortune as a professional football player.
First called up for international duty by Brazil U-17 coach Sergio Farias in January 2001, Diego has been sought after ever since.

After winning the South American Under-17 Championship in March of this year, as well as the Mundialito de Salerno under-16 tournament in Italy, the midfielder has established himself as a key member of the youth team, and Farias has not let him go since then.

Diego was the toast of the town and the media in Salerno, and said that he loved every minute of the attention: "It appears that we are appreciated more abroad than in Brazil. Young players in Brazil get very little attention from the press. This does not help our self-images."

Diego added that the goal he scored against Italy during the tournament was probably the best of his career so far.

He is confident about Brazil’s chances in the FIFA U-17 World Championship Trinidad & Tobago 2001 presented by JVC this September.

"I am overjoyed to have been included in the squad, and I hope to play my best football. It will be a rocky road to the title, but I am certain we can ride it out. Sergio [Farias] is a great coach, extremely professional, and I know that he will do the best job with and for us."

Ironically, considering his proven ability to both set up and score goals, Diego has started many of Brazil's matches on the bench. According to Farias, the speed, style and talent of this young player acts as a great element of surprise when he is brought on in the second half, and it has worked so far to unsettle Brazil's opponents.

The attacking midfielder has not only been successful with the national team, he also has played for storied Brazilian club Santos since he was 12, when he joined their junior team. He was the top scorer in the Sao Paulo junior championship in 2000 with 30 goals.

Diego began kicking a football at the age of six in Comercial de Ribeirao Preto, and has not looked back since then. He says that he is happy with Santos at the moment and wants to help out as much as he can.

"I want to play professional football and help my club win titles."

With short, dyed hair, Diego certainly has the look of a star, but it's his dedication to training and his willingness to work that just might make him one.

Diego and Leandro team up for Brazil

Despite not playing much in Brazil’s first two matches, attacking midfielder Diego nevertheless has managed to make a strong impression at the FIFA U-17 World Championship Trinidad & Tobago 2001 presented by JVC.
The 16-year-old Diego, one of the youngest players in the Brazilian squad, saw just five minutes of action against Australia in the South Americans’ 1-0 victory on 14 September. Diego then came on after the break in the 3-1 victory over Croatia on 16 September.

In both appearances, he injected energy and flair into the Brazilian attack, and though he may not have seen his name on the score-sheet, he earned many admirers among the Trinidadian fans in attendance - quite an accomplishment, considering that the Brazilian attack was quite colorful to begin with.

The opportunistic Diego certainly has seized the chance to make a strong impression despite limited time on the pitch.

“I try to make the best of the time I’m given,” said Diego, one of two members of the Brazil squad playing their club ball at Santos, the legendary club where Pele made his name. “The decision of who plays is up to the coaching staff. I’m never content to sit on the bench, but it’s all up to them, and I have to respect their decisions.”

Brazil coach Sergio Farias applauds his midfielder’s efforts.

“We are fortunate to have a lot of talented players on our bench, and Diego certainly is one of them. As we have seen (in the first two matches), he is an excellent dribbler, and can really take the ball and run with it.”

Diego agreed with his coach’s analysis. “I am very individualistic when it comes to my style. I like to take the ball straight at the goal.”

Teaming up with Diego to score the winner against Croatia was Leandro, who received a fine pass from his midfield partner at the edge of the area and then sent a perfectly-placed shot into the top right corner of the Croatian goal.

“It was a great goal,” Leandro beamed. “Diego won the ball back from a defender and then switched it over to me, and then I finished from there.”

Leandro, highly touted coming into the FIFA U-17 World Championship, has confirmed his place among the top midfielders in the tournament.

However, he displayed humility in describing his performance, while also distinguishing himself as a quintessential team player.

“In the last match I did win JVC Best Player of the Match (as selected by FIFA), and I had another good game this time, but I didn’t feel that I played my best. The crucial thing is that we won both matches. To me, it doesn’t matter who wins the award, it’s that we get the result.”

The result against Croatia earned Brazil a place in the quarterfinals, and took them a giant step closer to the Group A title.

“It definitely is a relief to have won those first two games,” Leandro said. “They both were really tough matches. Now it’s on to the third game against Trinidad & Tobago, and we’ll be looking for another good performance and to finish at the top of the group.

Moratti stopped Recoba sale? Wednesday 30 October, 2002

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has hinted that Alvaro Recoba could have been sold had it not been for his intervention.

Moratti made the comment during an interview in which comparisons were made between his feelings for Recoba, and those of his father Angelo ¡V a former Inter President - who loved Mario Corso in the 1960s.

"There are similarities," he told ¡¥il Manifesto¡¦. "Then boss Helenio Herrera would often make Corso available for transfer but my father always refused to sell him.

"It is a similar situation with Recoba. All Coaches have their ideas but so too do Presidents and fans who love individuals that can grace the field.

"This may cause the Coach problems tactically but this is football. Even if I want to underline that boss Hector Cuper has great faith in Alvaro."

The Uruguayan has yet to fully establish himself at the San Siro and continues to divide the critics with his alternating form.

Moratti also commented on the controversial transfer of Ronaldo to Real Madrid this summer.

"He first told us that he wanted to leave during the World Cup," the millionaire added. "But we were under no obligation to sell him.

"However, in the end we decided that it would be less problematic for us to release him. Keeping an unhappy player with us wouldn¡¦t have been right on our part."

Inventive, clever wide attacker Kily Gonzalez, not known for his defending but a real danger in possession.

What does this mean !
That kily is good in attacking and in ball possession, but not that good in defending ?
I didn’t get !
Then how’s SOLARI ! coz Cuper is said to prefer Solari than KILY !
