I think it's the other way around. their portuguese is under evolution and we stopped at the xvi century.

You would have become a far less intersting country than what you are now but I think it would have probably been better if you haven't been colonised at all.

That's funny. I would have wished to not have been colonized at all.
if you are from the new world then you have not existed, 99% of the population in the Americas has its roots elsewhere.

No, we still use the "c" before the "ç".
In any case I don't see what's the problem in using different ways of spelling and even a slightly different grammar. That is a sign of how rich and interesting our language is.

i agree with you filipe, I was just wondering..

look at this:
http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/folha/educacao/ult305u321373.shtml

"GRAFIA
No português lusitano:

Yes, I have heard about this change before but I didn't know when that was supposed to be implemented. From those examples one can see that this change is taking our language into a strange direction. The dropping of many accents is only due, in my view, because it is "easier" to write like this, especially when we are talking about computers. One can say that it is the sign of the times but I just feel it's the sign of how the world is getting anglo-standardised and that for me is wrong.

Just one last note: "herva" does not exist in Portuguese. We say "erva" in Portugal. We play on it while playing football and we smoke it (not while playing football). :pp

Why am I not surprised that Liternit was the source of this comment?

First, the self-hate.

Second, the sheer ignorance (do you know what the Japanese did in the places they colonized/occupied? hint: the rape of Nanking).

Nobody else could have written those words.

Again, the ignorance.

The vast majority of the population in the Americas have some native american roots, including the admirable Bordon is Gone! lineage, the typical "Paulista quatrocentao" with one Italian grandfather.

I suggest you run a DNA test - if your family have been in Brazil for more than 100 years and you are not living in some ghetto, it is very likely that you have plenty of Tupi-Guarani blood.

If you are a quatrocentao, it is pratically impossible not to have Tupi-Guarani heritage.

agora, eu tenho alguns pedidos (algumas perguntas? ) para voce...
- porque quando eu pus o teclado (? keyboard) portugues nao tenho as letras acentuadas?

obrigado, obviamente :smileani:

1) O Teclado tem os acentos? se for no formato ABNT Portugues e apenas um problema de configuração do windows, entre em "controll panel" and then Keyboard to change the Layout and Language to Portuguese. But mind there are some different portuguese layouts and you have to use the same one your keyboard uses.

2) don´t know any, but I like to read http://www.planetadofutebol.com/index2.php

totally agree. Too bad our forum is anemic :(

football forums in Brazil suck :(
its all about calling the rivals bad names and jokes about the Sao Paulinos's sexual orientation. Why can't we accept that they are gays? thats bullshit, we are in 2007. We should respect them.:rollani::strong: :cap:
