The MLSZ has picked the squad. It was done by some unidentified penpushers, apparently, as there is no head coah at the moment. here it is:

A válogatott bő kerete

Balogh János (DVSC-TEVA)
Köteles László (Diósgyőri VTK)

Védők:
Szélesi Zoltán (RC Strasbourg)
Vermes Krisztián (Újpest FC)
Csizmadia Csaba (SV Mattersburg)
Balogh Béla (Colchester United)
Juhász Roland (RSC Anderlecht)
Vaskó Tamás (Bristol City)
Rodenbücher István (MTK Budapest)
Bodor Boldizsár (Roda JC)
Vanczák Vilmos (FC Sion)

Középpályások:
Vadócz Krisztián (NEC Nijmegen)

No surprises there, except maybe Hrepka. Welcome addition of Köteles.

So here we go again. Not a single new name in the squad(exept for a 4th keeper) And I also see some of the 'hopeless ones' are there again. This is really getting frustrating. Don't expect anything from this tournament, with this team and no coach. Emberrasing(but predictable) really.

Which players would you leave out and which players would you bring in?

but hey, wait... "The MLSZ has picked the squad."

ooooooh well what can we accept from the true masters of football?

there is a certain határidö in which the squad has to be announced and as there is no szövkap atm, it had to be done by some MLSZ people, so they just filled in the names of the players who were in recently. I guess it can still be changed, hopefully it will, but that's the job of the new/or old szövkap.

Pintér would be my choice too.

but then the match is a waste in a way... this is a friendly where an NT could try out new players when there is no tét, they get playing time and the coach can get a clearer view of players who can come in if anything happens
it's nice that we know we have a great Vass, Buzsáky, Gera, Juhász, Fülöp, Hajnal but there can be injuries or yellow cards, players becoming out of form, maybe several problems at a time
we know that Leandro, Csizmadia, Tóth, Priskin can't replace them, Filkor, Dzsudzsák, Balogh maybe they can but gelling this new starting XI together is not enough imo
again MLSZ can't simply re-sign Várhidi to continue noooo, they postpone it to jan 15. then to jan 22. on the other hand they fix an NT match of feb 6. so a match squad has to be named when there is no NT coach
why Hungarian football must be organized by these arseholes

First of all the return of Huszti is a great bonus and when he's fully fit and ready Mate is a shure spot in the team in my book. So here goes..

Out:

Balajcza/Balogh.......One of these guys must go, 3 keepers is more than enough. Koteles good decision.
Csizmadia...............He's a parody of a footballplayer.
Vanczak.................Scores more against us then for us. Shite.
Leandro.................Not NT material.
Toth.....................O boy there he is again.
Rajczi....................Why him, he's not scoring whatsoever, not even playing in Serie B, have serious doubts about his qualities too.
Hrepka..................Really tragic what's happening to him, but at the moment no NT for him. He's far from written off though.

Balogh has never 'won me over' but that could change of course (though he isnt' performing at the moment). Vermes and Rodenburger i'm not sure about, but they are young and talented so they deserve a chance to prove themselves. Maybe Pintér or Kovács Z. too (who is the best of these 4 young defenders anyway)..?

In:"

Bodnár..................He's fit, he's back, he's our only back who is a killer. Take him in Asap.
Timár...................The way they keep pissing on him is ridiculous and even selfdestructing for him and the NT.
Gaál.....................He's is forgotten by just about everyone in Hungary. Most likely our best LB. Yeah just keep on posting Vanczák there pfff.
Laczko..................Has it in him to become a star, test him out now and give him some NT experiance.
Orosz...................Our only powerforward, 1.90 and a strong fellow. We lack that up front. He has also scored a lot of goals this season (in an NB1 mind you).
Németh................Already our best striker despite his age and the level he plays at now. Should be a starter in the NT.

In my opinion (not fact ofcourse) these changes give our NT a 20 to 30 percent boost in quality, and thats something we desperately need. Not that were gonna' win the World Cup or anything, but at least we'll get a chance to qualify this time. Also i dont agree with the mantra that we have no choice to go with some of these players because there are no others. There are, you just have to look closely for them. Guess my hopes are on the next coach, but based on the MLSZ trackrecord in these kind of decisions, I'm affraid its' going to be yet another anticlimax. Thumbs crossed for Boloni here.

Oh yeah, this team would suck. :rollani:

Honestly people get a grip, this squad has almost every best Hungarian player in it.

Huszti is back in, Hrepka & Farkas get a call up, Rajczi is in, and all the important Midfielders are in.

It's a known fact that we perform best in Friendly type games, so you'd rather we lose the Friendles AND the Qualifying games?

How do you think we keep holding our World Ranking? By beating the likes Poland, Latvia & Italy in friendlies.

And duuuhhhh they fix a match for February, as EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING GAMES. We only have a handful of games every year, yeah, let's skip all the Friendlies we can win and jump straight into being crushed by the Norways in Qualifyings. :rollani:

not bad, but i think we need a bit more defense in midfield. unfortunately, we don't have the backline to omit the DM spot.

so according to you we should play 20 friendly games just because we perform well in friendlies... yeah right the friggin friendlies do count a lot let's give 100% in these games to keep our world rankings
what a great goal and we're going to be crushed by teams like NOR
real positive view

and when did I said skip all the friendlies? you missed my point completely

I don't know anything about him..just his previous clubs.
What do you see are his strengths and weaknesses? Can he attack? Good in the air?
To be frank, I don't know much about him either. Only that he is a starter in a mid-table Russian team (a league wich is quickly becoming one of the better ones in Europe), on a position (LB) that is the worst in our squad. And also that he's also quite a big and strong fella, maybe even fast wich would be great (saw a profile of him once somewhere but forgot where). This alone should be enough to give it a try no?
