I don't think any of these guys were as good in their 30s as in the 25-31 age bracket. :pp

With maybe the exception of Romario, the other's kept that level of consistentcy. It could even be argued the above mentioned player's got better with age.

not really, they all lost speed, they carried on regardless but weren't at their best levels in their thirties.

It's not like these player's were sprinter's or anything, where the loss of a half step made much of a difference but that's where player's like Maldini and Bergy used experience and intelligence which in many cases is just as effective if not more.

Also not sure, but didn't Romario have a better goal game ratio when in his 30's

well that extra bit of speed is key, of course they adapted well to losing it.

and Romario might have had a better ratio playing in Brazil, but I think most people would say he was never better than his Barca and USA 94 days.

I agree, Romario succeeded in a tougher european league with barca the one season. not that the brazilian league is a pushover in anyway but the point being is that he kept that level of play if not faired better as he aged. Also being one of latin america's best

Gary Speed at Leeds was twice the player he is now, at least. :pp
So about four times the player of Cesc then? :pp

Le God was still scoring great goals at the end of his career, didn't need a lot of running. Greaves and Finney were still quite strong late on. Beckham is apparently in the prime of his career according to him and that US club.

Baresi was pretty darn good after 30.
Costacurta is still useful at 40.
That guy Donato in Spain was good until 40.
