I have no wish list currently, what will be will be, we just have to look at the teams and realize that there are no easy beats among them, not even the hosts in Poland and Ukraine

Hel yeah

Except for Brazil and Argentina, there is really no other "superpowers" outside of Europe while you have many a landmine in Eurpope.

^ I don't really agree with that . The Uruguayans and Mexicans are both very strong teams and those would be very hard games for us. The Japanese and South Koreans are no pushovers today. both those 2 teams work for 90 minutes. And you gotta fear and respect the speed that teams like Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana possess and everyday they are getting technically better. heck even the Americans are no slouches. No, i think the WC is just as good as the European championships today.

While I agree that other teams do have strenghs like running, speed, toughness, I still firmly beleive it's a LOT easier to get out of the group stages of the WC than it is out of the European Cup, due to the intense quality of the European teams and the small number of top teams who actually go to the final tournament.

There are no push over teams in the Euros, while you do have push over sides in the WC.

The rankings give away some of the story.

7 out of the top 10 teams are European.
6 out of 10 are european in the next step from ranking 10 to 20
And again 6 out of 10 are european from ranking 20 to 30

Local sports radio show in Toronto had a mock draw and Croatia wound up in Group D with Ukraine, Italy, and Denmark.

I would love the Group of Death. Brings a lot of attention to the team and I feel these guys are on top of their game when playing against best competition.

I just want to avoid Spain, Germany and England. Any combination avoiding those three I will be ok with, even if we get France from Pot 4. Not sure what to think about Holland, they would probably beat us as well but if I had to pick between them and ESP, it would be Holland

I actually did calculations :)lala:) and I would be content with 66% of possible draws, while there is a 17% chance we will be in a 'group of death'. But thats according to my pairings :D For example: Spain-Italy-Croatia-Denmark I could live with, despite it being tough, so maybe the 66% is inflated

I do not want Germany. The Germany we faced in 08 is not the same one from now. I expect the Germans to take it all (should we not win it... :D). I like getting the Italians because we tend to give them a nice whipping, but I hate playing them because the part-time football enthusiasts, also known as fanboys, start surfacing once more and dunno when to shut their trap.

wow, you would love NYC then :D

that's the reason I LOVE playing them. I love how those fanboys come out the woodwork, pretend they're big time Italian supporters and then we pip them as usual :D :D Plus, I'm Istrian and just hate Serie A (expect teams from Friuli) and their NT. Not to mention, it's nice seeing the look of the old time Istrians when we beat their 'old country' :D :finger:

Now don't you dare asking Santa for anything else this year... ;)

Tough group, but not impossible. Good luck.
