That'd be the phucking greatest group of all-time.

 

I think 1) there would be security on maximum alert for the entire campaign and 2)XT would break out into an all our war zone well apart from when we play Greece and Malta.

 

Look,

I think, the tougher the group, the better are our chances. We always did well, when we were seeded in the pot 3, then in pot 1 or 2 (WC2000 or Euro2002)

So let us go for

Portugal
Germany
SCG
Ireland
Wales
Nothern Ireland
Liechtenstein

 

As far as i know, only the group winner will go directly to Switzerland/Austria. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams will make 7 playoffs!!

This should keep up the suspence in the groups until the very end.

I think this is a good choice, but hell, a 2nd placed team of the group with eight will have to play 16 matches !!

 

I thought that the 2 first placed teams go directly to the Euro, but I´m not sure.

Plus, just look at the Bosanci and how they are acting, days after we beat them, it would be too annoying to have the same type of attitude from some of the other teams.
Supervic, I think that group of yours is too tough, who knows though, looking at our WC Group, that wasn't too easy either...

This is where not winning that game against Belgium at home is hurting us - we were very close to pot 2 (Romania has 1,95 and we had 1,85-something before the Bosnia game according to the thing posted in the Bosnian forum), had we won that game we would have taken ourselves out of this damned pot 3. From pot 1 I'd like us to get Greece obviously because they are the weakest in that group (they'd be in pot 3 if they were not titleholders). Pot 2 I dunno, maybe Poland? Turkey, Romania? Just not the Spanish again...

 

As I said in the WC thread, this draw is going to be very, very tough. One way or the other, it is going to be extremely difficult to qualify..It's really a shame we didn't reach pot 2.

 

I don't mind this. I certainly think our team is very capable of reaching the Euro finals. I don't see that many teams which I can say would confidently finish ahead of us. Hopefully we get a decent group. We should be back in the 1st and 2nd pots soon enough though.

 

I wouldn't mind France from Pot 1 now after thinking about it.
By than, Zidane and all those other veterans from their 'golden age' will most definately be gone for good and they are not much without those guys.
Only real worry is Henry obviously as we don't really have anyone fast enough to keep up with him. I'm still confident that Vidic and Gavrancic would limit his play though

I've just been reading on BBC and no one wants us for these qualifiers!! I think this shows people are finally showing respect to us again.

 

How can they determine the pots now when we do not even know the results of the WC in 2006. What a load of sh*t this seeding system is.

 

Those results don't matter because the qualifying draw is made before the WC starts anyway.

 

Hate to sound cocky, but I think that our team will only become better in the next decade. Right now, we have a very solid group that has qualified for the WC and will be able to do some damage there. But IMO our youth is at the top of European football right now. Now I realise that plenty of those players will dissapear, hell we're already seeing it with our U21's from last year's EC, but if every generation can get us 4/5 good players, we'll be set for the future.

Whoever we get, I can live with it. I agree with Supervic though, the harder the group is, the better we usually do.

 

Portugal, Italy, England, Spain, Germany are all sides we can match and even beat on our day, we have nothing to worry about but to play our own game it's the top 2 that go through.

 

Yea ever since the introduction of Nikola Zigic we found a new attacking power, becuase Nikola always forces a defenseman on him, becuase if they leave him alone its suicide. Which gives Kezman plenty of room to capitalize.
Being 202 cm tall shares with Jan Koller as the tallest player in Europe.
But since jan is getting old Nikola will be soon the sole person on that throne.

Not an article just the view of English fans in an XT style forum, got to be said though that fans there are usually quite ignorant so it's a good sign that they are starting to pay attention to us.
