I think a thread for him may be opened now it looks more than certain that he'll be a Merengue next season

Defenitely he isnt going to have much time but lets see and this would mean that we are defenitely not going for a midfielder after getting back JG and DLR

Granero: I Am Definitely Staying At Madrid

Esteban Granero has declared that there is no chance that he will be spending another year on loan at Getafe after being told that he will be part of Real Madrid's plans.

The 20-year-old signed a new deal at the Bernabéu last summer only to be told that the club wanted him to spend a season gaining experience elsewhere with the promise that he would be taken back this year.

After a successful campaign with Getafe, Granero is determined to make Madrid stick to their word and has been assured that any talk of a second season away is not on the cards.

"I made that decision when I extended my contract with Real Madrid last year to make it here," he said. "They then told me it would be better for me to spend one year loaned out to another club in order to become a better player and be able to fight for a spot on the team the following season.

"That’s what I did, it worked out well and the Club now counts on me. I am delighted; it’s my life’s dream. Real Madrid have told me they count on me this season."

Granero's year at the Coliseum in the southern Madrid suburb has shown that he has the ability to play at the top level and has given him more self-belief.

"It naturally made me more confident. I had to take that step in order to prove I am worthy of playing for Real Madrid," he explained.

Roberto Soldado had a similar path when he spent a year with Osasuna before returning to Madrid last summer, only to sit on the bench for the majority of last term as an unused substitute.

"I know Roberto had a rough time because RaĂşl and Van Nistelrooy were in great form last year. Nevertheless, I am more versatile and can play in many different positions. That may give me more chances of playing," Granero continued.

Finally, Granero reflected on comparisons between himself and Guti and claims that while they play in the same place, there are few aspects that he thinks are the same.

"I more or less play in the same position, but there is only one Guti. I am different. I wouldn’t mind being a similar player to him, though," he stated.

"I would even wear the new hairstyle he has. He is an extraordinary player and he’s always been very good to me."

I wish that would be Baptista and Balboa. For strikers is almost certain that Soldado is leaving, very possible Saviola to.

Midfield: Diarra, Javi Garcia, DLR, Granero, Sneijder, Guti, Gago. Daaamn! 7 players for three position, someone will certain be unhappy. Same goes to attack.

I have a feeling Diarra might go.

Attack: Robinho, Robben, Pipita, Raul, Ruud...Ronaldo?. Daaamn!

To much! IMO

Yup. All his positions are filled. Not that he isn't more talented than some, but he's a youngster and needs to play so he should go on loan.

LB - Heinze, Marcelo
CM - Sneijder, Guti, Gago, Granero, De la Red, Diarra, Javi Garcia
LW - Robinho, Robben

A year on loan where he can consistently start as a wide midfielder would be beneficial.

according to Marca, the club will call his agent today and will bring him back from Getafe using the buy-back option for 4M €.

2 weeks ago Pardeza said he's not coming back, so sure some plans have changed.

Excellent.

Spanish, canterano, young, very talented, cheap and a very good option as a wide man midfielder (interior or volante) in a 4-4-2 (ala Pelegrini), 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Excellent, excellent news.

Great player for squad depth and there is no better than having a talented cantera player like Granero for that. Parejo and Granero for Copa Del Rey games! Sounds good to me.

Its a shame we should pay to get our players back, I don't know why they don't just loan them.

anyway, with Guti & Gago staying offcourse this means we are going to sell both Sneijder and Vaart, and Parejo will be loaned where he can play hopefully.

Because if we loan them we would be paying them directly.. but when we sell and buy back we're basically losing a few millions on having the player gain experience for a year or two without paying them a dime.

I'd love to have him back, but I don't see this happening unless Sneijder or VdV leave.

I would love to see Granero back in the team. Very good squad player who Im sure would do a good job when called upon.

I've heard Granero is officially signed back and Parejo will go there ON LOAN.

Oh Well... I'm glad to see Granero coming back, but disappointed to see Parejo moving out. At least it's on a loan... It's good for Parejo to gain minutes but i wished he could get them here. For me he's already a better option than Gago, Guti and Sneijder.

Why can't a homegrown player make the jump from our youth ranks into the team without moving outside first? We should start trusting our youngsters more.

It will be a mistake to sell Parejo, even with a buy back option. It's obvious Parejo is good enough to succeed here, so for me there are two options:
1. Keeping him and giving him enough minutes so he can develop his game. (my preferred option)
2. Loaning him out.

What's the point selling him for 3m with a buy back option for 4m when it's obvious we'll bring him back? This way we lose 1m on our own player.

We payed 1.5m to loan Faubert and it seems we also pay teams to take our players away... Osasuna made 1m on Javi Garcia that way, Getafe earned money on DLR and Granero, and Almeria enjoyed Negredo for 2 great seasons and enjoyed 2m profit. All this teams would be happy to get our players on a loan too. I don't know why we're keeping this trend of selling our prospects cheap and buying them later for a higher price. Mijatovic introduce this procedure and we should rethink this policy. What's so bad with a simple loan?

well we pay his wages when the player is loaned. Also I think we value the players more when we sold them with buy-back option. You know the idiom, what doesnt cost anything isnt worth anything? Sad but true. Im actually glad Mijatovic introduced this option so we can have players back for cheap although their value is higher, even though we could have had them for nothing... can you follow me? :D

im not sure Green but there has to be something positive about it. ive been thinking about it whilst reading your post and id imagine it could be one of a few things.

1) when they buy him he is theirs. so unlike a loan theyre more obligated to play him. they are buying him in the hope that who knows, maybe theyll be allowed to keep him. gives teh player more confidence.

2) we dont have to worry about his wages. this i dont think is true as getafe wont be able to match the wages we're paying him so we'll still pay most of it.

3) maybe some sort of law, theres gotta be something obvious that we're all missing.

1) True, but just as with a loan, the team know they could keep hold on the player only if he isn't succeeding there. If he's doing great we'll buy him back, no illusion there.

2) This players are young and don't earn galactico salary, most teams can afford their salaries. It's not like when we loaned Morientes to Monaco and still payed most of his salary just to see him knocking us out of the CL...

3) Then why are we the only club using this policy? Or we aren't?

im happy granero be back ,but no way we lose parejo

agree with green , why cant he get time in RM when he is better than those so called stars. yes i mean gago and sneijder

and his wage is tooooooo low to be a question of club like RM ,so why they must sell not loan ? anything sucks
