Hey guys just thought it would be nice to have such a thread where we can talk about our yungsters and youth football in Croatia ;) !

#3 ·
There are eight groups, the teams that finish first are seeded and the teams that finish second are unseeded and they will be drawn into a playoff which will be played in November. The winners of the playoff enter the U21 EC.

The U17's start another round of qualifiers in October against Turkey, Macedonia and Romania. Tough group, top two make it to the next stage. Turkey are reigning European champs but we finished fourth overall. The three games will be played in Macedonia.

Thanks, I had forgotten what a crappy system they use. Might as well just go with the group winners.

So who are the up and coming stars? I know you watch a lot of youth games (or at least follow them) so who's the next Vlaovic :D

apparently he was one of the best players for the U21's when they came to North America and Vukojevic had a good tournament in NA and he plays for Lierse in Belgium. Also look out for some of the guys who played for the U17's in Italy, they might soon start playing for their clubs but still most of them are 16-18.

The U21's will play their match against Sweden in Velika Gorica meaning every qualifier was played there. Honestly I liked it better last time where they would play at 3-4 different places but looks like Maksimir and Velika Gorica are the homes of the NT and the U21's.

Good squad, believe it or not many people said that this was going to be the worst generation of youth in Croatian history but Bilic has proven them wrong and some guys on that list have a bright future in the NT (Modric, da Silva, Corluka, Cale etc..)
