We have to score and not lose.

I'd go with: Iker; Ramos, Albiol, Carvalho, Arbeloa; Khedira/Lass, Xabi; Ozil, Marcelo, Di Maria; Cristiano.

benzema should and will start........mou didn't play benzema against pathetico to keep him fresh for the important fixtures this week..........and it is paying dividends as he was pretty good against mallorca, eventhough he was a bit goal shy...........but goals will come eventually as he goes on playing more..............HALA MADRID!!!!!!!!!

Lol, Di Maria has played worse than Benzema ever has the past two matches. Now you guys are thinking of leaving out a striker and playing Di Maria up fron.:rollani:

I say continue playing Benzema the rest of the season because we may as well give him a complete run out before we decide to sell the man we paid over 30 million for and chose over David Villa. If he sucks then no danger done because the chance of us winning a trophy this season, regardless, is very low.

Kaka as well.

When did the club choose to sign Benzema over Villa? In the summer of 2009, Villa was quite clearly the first choice and we were hammering away at Valencia with offers. We offered more than we paid for Benzema, but they rejected it. They were never going to sell him to us, so we went for the second option.

I would go:

Casillas
Arbeloa - Albiol - Ramos - Marcelo
Gago - Xabi
Kaka - Ozil - Cristiano
Benzema

I think Di Maria should get a rest as he hasn't been himself recently. Kaka, Ozil, and Cristiano can switch positions all around the field.

Yes, resting Di Maria is also an option. But in that case, I would just put Cristiano on right side, with Marcelo on left and Arbeloa behind him. And no Gago in first XI, Lass or Khedira. This is Sanchez Pizjuan, don't forget that.

It was still about money. He went to Barca for 40 million last summer. No way was Debt-ridden Valencia not going to sell if we offered 45-50 million. Instead I don't even remember if we hit the 40 million mark. We paid 35 million euros for Benzema and now I'm not sure if we will get over 15-20 million for him. That is a 15-20 million euro loss over the span of two seasons. We instead could have taken that amount and paid the difference for Villa.

This is the entire problem. We paid good money for Benzema because he is YOUNG and talented. He is a long-term investment in other words. Not because he would necessarily be a quick payoff. If we wanted a quick payoff, then we would have suckled from Valencia's tit and paid up the damn cash for Villa. Instead, we don't pay up the money for Villa even though we want quick success, we go for Benzema, and then treat Benzema like shit once he doesn't prove himself in about half a seasons worth of chances. So then we throw away Benzema and quite a bit of cash to go pay heavily for the next sucker to come.

I think he's been slow and physically weak on the ball, getting knocked off each and every time. That's my take on the matter.

Mourinho called every available player for the game. 5 of these guys won't make the bench... Mejias, Mateos, and three more.

--

GK: Casillas, Adan, Mejias
DF: Arbeloa, Ramos, Carvalho, Albiol, Garay, Mateos, Marcelo
MF: M.Diarra, L.Diarra, Xabi Alonso, Gago, Khedira, Granero, Ozil, Di Maria, Kaka, Canales, Pedro Leon
FW: Benzema, Cristiano

Injured: Higuain, Pepe, Dudek

what a cringeworthy video, something atletico would come up with really.

once lofty team now just crap.

i cant stand them really, they are by far the dirtiest team in spain, diving, injury feigning, all of it. disgusting, hope we knock a few past them.

Twenty-three players on Alfredo di Stefano turf for final session before Copa del Rey semifinal

Real Madrid have wrapped up preparations for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals scheduled for Wednesday. Twenty-three players including Sami Khedira worked out on the turf of Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

Also participating in the session was goalkeeper Tomas Mejias, who trained alongside Casillas and Adan with keeper coach Silvino Louro. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad split into two groups following a light warmup. Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Granero, Di Maria, Carvalho and Sergio Ramos fell under the orders of Rui Faria. while Albiol, Garay, Kaka, Ozil, Lass, Mateos, Canales, Pedro Leon, Diarra, Gago and Khedira did the same with assistant coach Santi Lozano.

After sitting out last weekend's match against Mallorca with a bruised right foot, Sami Khedira was back in action with the squad and trained without incident. Dudek, Pepe and Higuain, however, are still in sick bay and did not set foot outdoors.

I disagree with anyone who says Kaka's been shit since coming back. He was our only threat against Almeria in the 1st half, and he releases the ball quickly and well.

Having said that, I still want him off the bench for now.

Defensive lineup though a smart one as barca already said. Its a cup away game, more defense orientated lineups are used.

Frankie, on the whole Villa thing, it wasnt a question about money or about Valencias willingness to sell to Real. It was more about a calculated risk taken by Valencia - keep the player to get the CL money. In that summer that player was never gonna be sold.
