In Olimpico Roma will not go gung ho, we will go for a 1-0 and thats the way we should play otherwise we could get burned on the counter.

Aye United in away games don't go for it either, the last time they really turned it on was Juve a few years back in a group game, and 5 years ago in a knockout game against Depor - in other words, we're sh!te in away games sadly.

I remember that Juve game, bit weird really as Juve owned Man Utd for 15 minutes hitting the post twice or something then Man Utd scored 3 goals before HT or something because of crappy defensive mistakes. Weird to think Juve actually went through to the final then aswell.

your players are doing a lot of trash talk today. calling ronaldo a diver. im talking about mancini and panucci. thats not cool. your players should their football do the talking

Mancini calling someone a diver. Oh the insanity :D I do really hope Panucci and the rest of our team kick the crap out of Ronaldo after Ferguson saying he couldnt be stopped in that way. I guess Ronaldo hasnt faced an Italian team before who are the experts at kicking the crap out of their opponents.

They're just trying to put pressure on the ref, it always happens - even in EPL games, with managers etc. mentioning passed decisions nonstop. No biggie.

Though to be fair, the ref could be crucial for the outcome of the 2nd leg, if he goes on a rampage with yellows, as both teams face the possibility of 2nd leg suspensions.

They didn´t say he was a diver, they said when he´s kicked down he makes it look worse than it was and that referees protect him in the Premier League.

The referee of our game will be Fandel, a german.

sounds like this will be a tedious affair then, United should be going for it in the away tie of a knockout, a 0-0 is not a great result at all.

Tell that to Fergie. Feck sake, even against Lille we had to put up with that shite - though to be fair, just hearing the French b!tch for a month because of the way we won it, was well worth it:D.

can't understand it, you end up getting sucker punched when you defend as much as when you attack, like you should have done in Lille and we did in PSV.

Hmm Gazzetta say the ref is Fandel (German)
While Romanista says it´s Tom Henning Oevreboe (Norweigan)

If quite scared.. if it´s the norweigan we don´t even need to bother with showing up, from the many times I´ve spoken to Thoto I know they hate Italians/Italian football as much as you possible can. Plus you have Solskaer in United and the Scandinavian love towards the english football..

Norwegians are even worse than swedes in that regard. Hell, by reading norwegian papers one would think Man United was actually a norwegian team.

I'd love it to be two pure attacking games, like the gems that United had in 99 for example, but with the 451, hopefully it doesn't turn out a borefest. Two of the best attacking teams left in the competition, going at each other nonstop would be brilliant:)

it would. especially with our counter attack system.

Yes, the referee is so important for these matchups. I don't ever expect fairness in Europe, but just give us an honest shot at winning on the pitch. :scream:

True. I believe Spalletti tested this method against Milan. When Roma took the lead you could notice that they allowed Milan to possess the ball.

Roma kick the mancs out of europe please:hopefull:

Giallorosso, if you don't know, ESPN will give this match a live broadcast; would've prefered SBS [better commentary and video clarity] but of course, still good news.

SBS give live broadcast to the second leg.
