Worth starting a thread already as its our next CL game. I hope the boys just give it their best and don't fall apart. We have to look at the big picture of this game and its not for qualification in a two legged match, but for points. I would happily come away from here with a point and our European reputation back in tact. However something about me wants us to win this match in style, even if I know Man Utd are also a great side and not easy enough to say such a thing.
We will have to defend with more numbers next time... hopefully Taddei and Perrotta will be fit as their hard work would be needed. We seem to not enjoy our trips to Britain and so aswell as getting som reputation back it is also an opportunity to get rid of our British ghosts.
I personally just do not want another bad defeat. However we must look at the bigger picture and points are up for grabs and I hope Man U are slightly complacent.
The first thing I would do as a Roma coach and players is keep silent. Do not say stupid things about Man U as this will only rattle them. We should stay quitely confident and let Utd get complacent as they already think we are beaten. Secondly Spalletti should actualy show the defeat last year, as painful as it might be, to remind these guys of the pain of the defeat and how much they will not want such a thing to happen again. As for Spaletti he needs to find a way to stp the key Utd players. Double up on Ronaldo as soon as he gets the ball and not leave the defence isolated.
